Rodrigo’s road trip from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles, where she began writing her triple-platinum Geffen Records first album Sour, will be documented in the film. Rodrigo will recall her experiences of writing and recording her debut album, as well as her feelings as a young lady traversing a difficult period in her life, in the video.
The Disney+ documentary will feature new live versions of Rodrigo’s songs in locations such as the Mojave Airplane Boneyard, Roy’s Motel & Café, Arcosanti, and the Red Rock Canyon State Park, as well as interviews and never-before-seen footage from the album’s development. Jacob Collier, Blu DeTiger, and Towa Bird will all make special cameo appearances in the documentary.

Sour was released by Rodrigo in May 2021. Since then, the record has received a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year. (Taylor Swift, Jack Antonoff, and St. Vincent were also nominated for their contributions to Sour, but owing to a submission error, their names were removed from the nomination.) Rodrigo is also up for three of the major four awards, including Best Song, Record, and Best New Artist of the Year, as well as two more pop nominations.
