Do you hope to meet up with the NPC monsters and minions of the anime series Overlord again? Have you been wondering when and where that might happen? The knowledge we have gathered after travelling to meet the beasts of east and west will help us find the answers we seek.
The anime’s official Twitter account announced in May 2021 that the cast, crew, and creators would start production for Season 4. There is finally more information being released about the action-packed anime’s fourth season.
In the Naoyuki Ito anime series, which is based on the Japanese light novel series of the same name, an online role-playing game is permanently shut down, but one last player still logs on who is transported to a new world. Without anything to lose, the young man sets out to create his own fantasy empire, gaining the trust of beasts, monsters, and humanoids along the way and destroying anyone who tries to stop him.
In his new role as the Lich ruler of the Sorcerer Kingdom, Ainz Ooal Gown becomes more involved in the ongoing conflict between Human, Demi-Human, and Heteromorphic characters in the videogame universe he now occupies.
Beyond Season 4, the creators plan to release a new game and a feature film that delve deeper into the Overlord universe. It is safe to say that the staff behind the dark fantasy series have been busy. Here’s what we know so far about Overlord Season 4:
Is There an Overlord Season 4 Trailer?
The anime’s official Twitter page released its first look at the upcoming season in December 2021. You can take a look at the upcoming battles here; there was also a second trailer released in March 2022, just a couple of days ago.
What is the release date for Overlord Season 4?
Overlord Season 4 will premiere in Japan in July 2022, but the premiere date has not yet been announced. Season 1 and 3 aired in July, while Season 2 aired from January to April 2018, ending only three months before the third season began.
What Will Overlord Season 4 Be About?
The game-centred series fans are wondering if they will finally see the Holy Paladin arc in the upcoming season. However, reports are spreading that this will be addressed in a full-length feature film set to release. Officially, the fourth season will continue the third.
Ainz’s quest for power continued in the third season as he sought the Giant of the East and the Demon Snake of the West, destroying everyone who stood in his way. Also, in season 3, we witness the Baharuth Empire feigning allegiance to Lord Ainz before attempting to betray him and his Sorcerer Kingdom.
This leads to the gruesome fight between Nazarick and Re-Estize that leaves Gazef dead. As a result of seeing Lord Ainz’s true power, who slays 70,000 Re-Estize soldiers with one spell, and the threat of a rampage through the Capitol looming over him, King Ramposa III relinquishes control of E-Rantel. We must now wait and see how the cold and powerful Sorcerer King will proceed in his quest for world dominance.
Overlord Season 4 Animation: Which Studio is Handling It?
Madhouse, which has produced popular anime series such as Death Note, One Punch Man, and Parasyte, is returning to deliver the fourth season of the dark action series. There were many complaints at the series’ CG animation in the third season, so fans are hoping to see an improvement in the way large armies are presented.
