    Paper Girls (2022)

“Paper Girls” is a fictional story. The comic by Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang will be adapted shortly.

Paper Girls features four teenage girls (Rosinsky, Jones, Nelet, and Strazza) who become unwillingly involved in a struggle between competing groups of time-travelers while out delivering papers on the morning after Halloween in 1988, leading them on an odyssey across time that will rescue the planet. As they journey between the present, the past, and the future, they encounter future versions of themselves and must now decide whether to embrace or reject their fate.

Mac Coyle is played by Rosinsky. Mac, a working-class Catholic girl, is Stony Stream’s first female paper guy. Mac received the paper route from her elder brother, to whom she owes her everlasting allegiance and affection… which may or may not be the best place to put it. Mac’s toughness, on the other hand, is no act; she possesses a razor-sharp tongue and lightning-quick fists. Mac, like most bullies, may be concealing a deep source of insecurity. On Hell Day 1988, events combine to establish Mac as the unusual leader of our Paper Girls, despite his preference for solitude.

Tiffany Quilkin is played by Jones. Tiffany, the sole child of successful mixed-race parents, has huge ambitions for her future and has no intention of letting them down. Tiffany is insanely clever, even if she is sometimes inclined to embellish the truth when she is in a pinch. She has a vast grasp of pop culture and a passion for electronics and technology. She’s been delivering newspapers for about a year.

Erin Tieng is Lai Nelet. Erin, a devout daughter, sister, and, yes, newly-minted newspaper employee, is frequently stuck in the middle of two worlds. She’s a dual-language immigrant with strong Chinese roots on the one hand, and an All-American youngster on the edge of adolescence who yearns for the TV-perfect life she sees represented in Western society all around her on the other.

KJ Brandman is played by Strazza. Nobody will ever forget that KJ is one of the only Jewish girls in Stony Stream and that she hails from the town’s richest family. Perhaps only when she’s playing field hockey does she feel genuinely noticed – an image that runs counter to her mother’s wishes for her. KJ is reserved, sensitive, and emotionally boiling behind her exterior. She doesn’t require the paper-delivery job, but it gives her a sense of independence.

Paper Girls is a co-production between Amazon Studios and Legendary Television, as well as Plan B. Executive producers will include Stephany Folsom, Christopher Cantwell, and Christopher C. Rogers. Folsom and Rogers will share the show running duties.
