The “North Star” for the series, according to executive producer and author Desta Tedros Reff, was honesty.
Co-creator Graham was reminded of his own background playing Little League as a child by “A League of Their Own,” which fit endearingly like an old glove.
The “transformative nature of joy” and the desire to find a genuine team both on and off the field serve as the series’ central themes.
Is “Power Book III: Raising Kanan: Season 2” based on a true story?
“Power Book III: Raising Kanan: Season 2” is a fictional story. The new teaser highlights Raq’s extraordinary influence and her very strong perspective on her family and her company. The passion and tension with which she expresses this pledge of fealty, however, is appropriate for Lady Macbeth. Raq has taken over the city’s drug trade as the second season of Power Book III: Raising Kanan begins. But she discovers that even though her control over the city is stronger than ever, her son is eluding her. In Season 2, Kanan will return to Queens, uncertain about his position in the family company. Raq will meanwhile expand her dominion into Mafia-controlled territories.
The new season will put the limits of family and the unrelenting desire of power to the test as danger and intrigue may be found around every turn.
The cast also features Omar Epps, London Brown, Malcolm Mays, Hailey Kilgore, Joey Bada$$, and Shanley Caswell in addition to Miller and Curtis. Additionally, the show’s creator and showrunner Sascha Penn is back. Along with Courtney A. Kemp and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who played an older version of Kanan in Power, Penn will continue to serve as an executive producer. Jackson produces the program through his G-Unit Film and Television, while Kemp does so through her production business End of Episode. Power Book III: Raising Kanan is also executive produced by Mark Canton under Atmosphere Entertainment MM.
