On September 17th, 2021, RLJE Films will release Prisoners of the Ghostland in cinemas and on VOD. The film had its international premiere at the Sundance Film Festival this year, and we’ve got a new trailer to share with you today!

The film was written by Aaron Hendry and RexaSixoSafai, best known for Western Wonderland, and directed by the famed Japanese director Sion Sonowho is best known for Why Don’t You Play in Hell. Nicolas Cage stars in this movie after just having delivered a critical success in the form of Pig (2021). Sofia Boutella best known for her role in The Mummy, Nick Cassavetes who is seen in Face/Off, Bill Moseley from the famous Texas Chainsaw Franchise, TakSakaguchibest known for Tokyo Tribe, and YuzukaNakaya feature in the film in key roles. The original score was written by Joseph Trapanesewho has notably worked in major successes which include Tron: Legacy, The Raid: Redemption and, The Greatest Showman.

The story is set in the perilous frontier metropolis of Samurai Town, where a brutal bank robber is freed from prison by wealthy warlord The Governor, whose adopted granddaughter Bernice has gone missing. The note for this brutal but somehow charismatic bank robber is played by none other than Nicholas Cage. In exchange for retrieving the runaway, the Governor grants the prisoner his freedom. The bandit sets out on a trip to discover the young womanand also goes down his own path to redemption. The catch is that he is clad in a leather suit that will self-destruct in three days.
