One more intriguing film has been added to Netflix’s European movie and series roster for June 2022. Queen, a beautiful family drama about a father-daughter bond and reuniting with your old self, is due to premiere this month in Poland. The plot of Queen, which is translated as Królowa in Polish, follows a well-known Parisian tailor and former drag queen who returns to his village to mend his connection with his daughter. His return to his past, though, would entail far more than making amends.
The late rni lafur sgeirsson (Undercurrent) and Kacper Wysocki wrote the Netflix original drama series (Klangor). Lukasz Kosmicki is the director of the series. Kosmicki is a well-known Polish cinematographer, screenwriter, and filmmaker who has directed films such as The Coldest Game and The Dark House, among others. He’s also the director of the TV shows Klangor and Ultraviolet. Andrzej Seweryn (Schindler’s List), Maria Peszek (The Hexer), Julia Chetnicka (Erotica 2022), Antoni Porowski (Queer Eye), and Piotr Witkowski (Erotica 2022) play pivotal roles in Queen. Here’s everything we know about Queen so far, from the plot to the cast and characters, trailer, and more.
Queen will premiere on Netflix on Thursday, June 23, 2022, and will be accessible to stream starting that day. Queen has only four episodes, making it ideal for a weekend marathon.
In May 2022, Netflix published the trailer for Queen. Sylwester, a tailor in Paris, receives a letter from his granddaughter expressing a medical emergency in the official trailer. That’s where the narrative starts. He packs his belongings and prepares to embark on a journey that would forever alter his life and relationships.
The trailer takes us through the events that occur as Sylwester returns to his birthplace in short montages. Wioletta, his daughter, and Iza/Izabela, his granddaughter, are also introduced. While his granddaughter has a joyful and affectionate relationship with him, his daughter is the polar opposite. Despite the fact that he donated his kidney to her (possibly because she isn’t aware yet), she doesn’t even want to see his face. This strange family gathering isn’t going as well as he’d hoped. But, as time goes on and the three of them spend more time together, they seem to become closer.
In order to improve his family’s situation, Sylwester begins to focus on things that are important to his granddaughter, such as putting on a play, which would require him to return to the stage and relive his drag identity, in order to aid his community and his connection with his daughter. Queen appears to be a love drama in the trailer, but there’s a surprising amount of comedy sprinkled into the story, albeit subtly. There will also be a lot of theatrical moments, vivid clothes, and wonderful music to look forward to.
Andrzej Seweryn, Maria Peszek, Julia Chetnicka, Antoni Porowski, and Piotr Witkowski star as the main protagonists in the Polish series.
In addition to Keiona, Kova Réa, Himera Drag Queen, Véronique Bisciglia, Pawel Koslik, Bartlomiej Bobrowski, Lola Eyeonyou Potocki, Mariusz Zabkowski, Henryk Niebudek, Lukasz Rembas, Lucy d’Arc, and Soa de Muse, the cast includes Keiona, Kova Réa, Himera Drag Queen, Véronique Bisciglia,

This is the story of Queen, according to Netflix’s official synopsis:
“A renowned Parisian tailor and drag queen returns to his homeland in Poland to make amends with his daughter after a decades-long absence.”
But there’s more to this story than meets the eye. The father-daughter relationship is one of the subjects addressed in the series, and it makes you wonder how far you would go to reconcile with your child. The answer is probably what Sylwester is attempting to do: confront his history and sins in order to atone for his daughter’s sake. This drama is around a man and his daughter.
Queen is also about a previously popular drag queen reminiscing about his days in the theatre. Loretta, the legendary drag queen of Paris, was once Sylwester. Sylwester is proud of his prior identity and performance skills, despite abandoning his love and becoming a sartorial genius. And now, decades later, his stage abilities will be put to good use as he brings Loretta back to life to assist his granddaughter and instigate social change by introducing the local men to drag. This fresh opportunity may also help Sylwester remember who he really is, and this time, instead of fleeing, he may tell his daughter the truth.
