When Is Resident Alien: Season 2: Part 2 (2022) Releasing?

You will soon visit the doctor! SYFY has finally revealed a return date for Season 2 of Resident Alien after months of anxious speculation. The Patience, Colorado cast, led by Dr. Harry Vanderspeigle played by Alan Tudyk, will return to our screens that evening on Wednesday, August 10. And if that still isn’t enough for you, the intriguing debut announcement is accompanied with a first peek trailer. The video, which is barely under two minutes long, tackles all the significant plot beats that still need to be resolved.

One issue is that a newborn alien infant is escaping and devouring humans (as alien newborns are wont to do). Another is that General McAllister (Linda Hamilton), who is still looking for a real extraterrestrial specimen, won’t give up until she gets one in her cunning hands. She’s not the only one seeking for a cosmic visitor, though. Deputy Liv (Elizabeth Bowen) makes contact with the Alien Tracker (Terry O’Quinn) in an effort to gather evidence that UFOs do, in fact, exist. Oh, and there’s also the minuscule matter of a another extraterrestrial culture attempting to conquer Earth. Simple everyday issues, and Harry is handling them in the only way he is able to: by eating his emotions.

The second season of Syfy’s extraterrestrial comedy-drama Resident Alien premiered in January of this year. There were two distinct phases to the season. On March 16, 2022, the first half, which included eight episodes, came to an end. The second half of the season, which likewise consisting of eight episodes, now has a release date. The series, created by Chris Sheridan and starring Alan Tudyk, is based on a comic book of the same name.

Season 2 of Syfy’s Resident Alien will continue with Part 2 on Wednesday, August 10, at 10/9c, the cable network announced on Friday. The network also released a brand-new trailer for the final eight episodes of the season in addition to the return date (watch the new clip above). In order to spare Harry’s life, Asta (Sara Tomko) shoots a Galvan/Powell goon to death. This is where the second part of Season 2 takes up.

According to the official synopsis, Harry and Asta “must deal with the emotional consequences of the night all while looking for the alien kid – a journey that leads to huge realisations for both of them.” While D’Arcy (Alice Wetterlund) faces the challenge of a lifetime, Ben (Levi Fiehler) tries to sell Patience on a new resort, and Sheriff Mike (Corey Reynolds) and Deputy Liv (Elizabeth Bowen) solve a significant case. The Alien Tracker, played by Terry O’Quinn, makes a triumphant comeback in the teaser and turns up in Patience to meet Liv. The deputy believes the Tracker can assist her in demonstrating to the people that UFOs are real.

The alien-human hybrid kid tore through Patience and interrupted a surprise birthday party arranged for Harry in the March 16 midseason finale (see our post mortem with creator Chris Sheridan here). Secrets were revealed and emotions spiralled out of hand. Along with the Ben/Kate/D’Arcy triangle reaching its conclusion, Liv also gained some much-needed certainty regarding her own encounter with extraterrestrials. As the season’s final episodes approach, Harry and Asta will more than likely have their hands full with the baby still on the run, a murder to cover up, and General McCallister hot on their heels.

The past episodes of the show are also available for viewing on Peacock.

Recap of the midseason finale of Season 2 of Resident Alien

Part 1 of Resident Alien Season 2 has been over for a moment. So let’s review the previous information. Harry had ample time after his inward transformation to absorb the feelings of those on Earth. His ambition to exterminate the human species was also altered by this, along with his soul. Harry and Asta were on the lookout for Goliath around the end of Resident Alien Season 2’s first episode.

Harry could converse with Goliath, an extraterrestrial of the same species, if he wants to. Harry and Asta, on the other hand, quickly learned that Goliath had died and had left behind an egg containing a human/alien hybrid for them. The two dealt with the egg while attending a surprise birthday celebration in Harry’s cabin in the closing episode. While the two were attending to their visitors, the egg hatched, and the alien fled. Before the alien ate everyone, Harry and Asta determined they had to find it.

Harry discovered the infant alien was none other than Goliath. Goliath forewarned Harry that the planet was home to another exceedingly hostile alien species. Harry was shot in the chest, cutting their chat short. Fortunately, Asta was able to shoot the gunman and save him. D’Arcy arrived at the location and witnessed the tragedy as the eighth episode came to a close.

The events of the midseason finale, in which Asta saved Harry’s life by murdering a Galvan/Powell goon, will be immediately followed in the second half of the second season. The recently released Part 2 teaser also included Terry O’Quinn’s alien tracker making a comeback and showing up in Patience to meet with Liv. Harry and Asta will be coping with the emotional consequences of the night while continuing to look for the alien kid, according to the official synopsis for the second half of the season. For each of them, the search will result in important realizations.

Ben will try to sell Patience as Sheriff Mike and Deputy Liv solve a significant case. D’Arcy will be shown overcoming a once-in-a-lifetime obstacle. Asta and Harry will have their hands full with a murder to solve and General McCallister hot on their trail while the alien infant is still at large. Watch the remaining episodes of the season for more homicides, riddles, and newborn aliens who devour humans.
