Rick And Morty Crossover With Cenobites From Hellraiser In Season 5

Rick And Morty is returning for a fifth season, as Adult Swim recently released a trailer that shows the Smith family exploring new worlds while paying homage to a number of pop culture icons along the way, one of the most notable of which is Clive Barker’s horror masterpiece Hellraiser. Though the specifics of this Easter Egg remain unknown, it’s evident that Rick, Beth, and Jerry are traversing the realm of the Cenobites, since they appear to be straight out of the horror film.

In addition to the world of Pinhead, the Adult Swim cartoon series features references to Voltron, Blade, Transformers, Jurassic Park, and Marvel’s Namor, to name a few. Rick And Morty’s humour has always been one of the show’s strengths, as have the plots that can take place anywhere thanks to Rick Sanchez’s technological genius. We may expect some strange, gut-wrenching episodes in the new season, which premieres on June 20th this summer. With the confirmation of future seasons for the Smith family, it’s evident that Rick and Morty fans will be content for a long time.

The Hellbound Heart is based on the original short tale by horror master Clive Barker and has spawned a series of films that follow several protagonists as they meet Pinhead and his gang.

Hellraiser made headlines lately when HBO Max announced that a new television series is in development, bringing horror fans back into the world of the Cenobites.
