Rob Zombie, the director of the Munsters reboot, has published the plans for the 1313 Mockingbird Lane set, which is based on the original show’s version.
The Munsters Movie, Rob Zombie’s proposed film adaptation of the popular comedy series, has received yet another major change. Earlier this year, word got out that Zombie was working on a new film based on the comedy he grew up watching. In the weeks afterwards, he has formally confirmed his involvement and has kept his supporters updated on the pre-production process.

Rob Zombie shared designs for the set of the Munsters’ family mansion at 1313 Mockingbird Lane on Instagram on Monday. The house appears to be modelled exactly as it looked in the original TV episode, as seen in the photo. This should allay fans’ fears that Zombie won’t stay true to the source material, as he’s gone to tremendous pains to do so. In fact, he even specifies how he intends to make it appear to be the same house.
Zombie writes in the captiontha the blueprints have been completed and it’s time to get to work on the construction. Prepare for the most ideal Munsters home since 1964. He also says that this is exactly what he has been looking for.”
Zombie has recently been investigating sites for The Munsters in Budapest for other locales to appear in the film. It’s great to hear that he’ll have the actual Munsters’ family house built as a way to pay full tribute to the original series. It’s unknown whether Zombie intends to keep the tale lighthearted and comical in tone, similar to the sitcom, or whether he’ll want to give the film his normal R-rating. At this point, it appears that he is more concerned with remaining loyal to the show.
