The macabre aesthetic, engaging premise, and the amazing balancing act of being moderately disturbing without slipping into outright horror attracted viewers in the first season of the spooky mystery anime “Shadows House” The anime follows a community of faceless shadow people and their living doll counterparts who serve as house cleaners in the titular Shadows House, a mysterious, isolated mansion.
The show centers mostly on the shadow girl Kate Mirror and her living doll Emilico as they begin to uncover the house’s and its residents’ unsettling secrets.
Since the first season ended in July of 2021, fans have been eagerly anticipating the release of Season 2 of the show and how it would continue the story. Fortunately, early details released by Funimation indicate that the second season will tick all the right boxes for fans of the first season.
When will Season 2 of Shadows House be released?
Season 2 of “Shadows House” has a definite release window that will excite fans. The Shadows House Season 2 release date is confirmed for July 2022, during the summer 2022 anime season.
During Anime Japan 2022, on March 27, 2022, a new Shadows House Season 2 trailer preview was released. The initial announcement of the production of the anime TV series was made during a special live-streamed event on September 11, 2021.
A special teaser trailer was released that includes a preview of one special character. What stood out in the Shadows House Season 2 trailer is that it fully animates Ghost Robe (Ghost-sama), a major character that was skipped by the first season.
The character was also featured in another key visual that was released on January 5, 2022.
On Twitter, original creator Somato created a special animation in celebration of the anime news. The creator will be supervising the creation of the anime scripts once again while working on the manga.
While the news of a second season was warmly received, it was not entirely unexpected. Renewals of anime series are often determined by two factors: original material and popularity, both of which Shadows House possesses in abundance.
What will be the plot of Season 2 of Shadows House?
The second season of “Shadows House” is expected to start up where the first ended. Kate, Emilico, and their friends had found some grim truths regarding the nature of the titular Shadows House, as well as the shadow people’s relationship with the living dolls, the last time fans saw them on the show. The living dolls, it turned out, weren’t dolls at all but actual human children kidnapped from a nearby village and brainwashed into becoming shadow people’s servants.
Kate appears to be continuing her quest to uncover the mansion’s dark history, release the living dolls from their captivity, and undo Emilico’s brainwashing in Season 2. However, it appears that the journey will only become more difficult as Edward has made a vow to destroy Kate and her companions at all costs for endangering the mansion’s power hierarchy. During Season 2, these two powers will almost probably clash.
Some other mysterious characters affiliated with the Shadows House appear to be making an appearance, according to the official promotional image in the Funimation press release, but fans will have to wait until the season actually premieres to find out more, as with some other highly anticipated anime at the moment.
