    Shrek Is Returning To Theatre For Its 20th Anniversary This Spring

    The tremendous animated film Shrek is on its way to make a comeback in theatres next month. The filmmaker wants to [ay a tribute to the iconic animated film’s 20th anniversary. Shrek hit the big screen on 18th May in 2001 and gained instant success. The movie became one of the most famous animated films of all time. Fathom Events is taking back the movie once again in the theatres to celebrate the occasion for only three nights at the end of April. The tickets are already available since 12th March.

    Fathom Events Vice President Tom Lucas said, “We are happy to associate with Universal and DreamWork Animation to fetch Shrek on the big screen for its 20th anniversary”. He added, “The valuable animated film has multi-generational plea at the theatre for the entire family.”

    The audience will also get the pleasure of watching another animated short film.

    Firstly, the audience got the chance to watch Shrek once again in the theatre. And now, they also will become thrilled to get DreamWorks Animation’s short film To Gerard. The trailer of the animated feature Spirit Untamed will premiere on 4th June.

    Andrew Adamson and Vickey Jenson’s team directed Shrek. Ted Elliot, Joe Stillman, Terry Rossio, and Roger S.H. Schulman wrote the movie. The writers wrote the story by keeping Chris Farley in mind to provide him the titular ogre voice. But, Chris Farley died during production, and the creators recast Mike Myers for the voice of Shrek. Eddie Murphy co-stars as Donkey, Cameron Diaz lent her voice as Princess Fiona and John Lithgow as Lord Farquaad.

    The film Shrek has become the first movie that won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. It also got the nomination for the Best Adapted Screenplay. In 2020, the Library of Congress nominated the film to preserve in the National Film Registry. Shrek is also famous for forever eternalizing the Smash Mouth song All-Star. The film will be on the screen on April 25, 28, and 29. The film also will release in 4K print, and it will be available on 11th May.
