Shudder Is Back With Anthology Series Creepshow This Year, And It Comes Bearing Some More Good News!

American anthology horror Creepshow (based on the classic film, of course) started airing on Shudder and AMC+ in 2019 and had to come to an abrupt halt in 2020 before the release of its second season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Each season consists of six episodes, and the creator of this show is Christopher Drake. Now that the second season is all set to release in April, Shudder has surprised fans with not one but two pieces of good news! Given the positive reception of the show and how much they makers are enjoying working on classic tales of horror, Shudder renewed the show already for a third season. Not only this, but the third season is going to shift most of its focus to black storytellers of the horror genre.

Chain of events that led to this pleasant surprise for fans

In a recent interview, showrunner and executive producer of Creepshow Greg Nicotero stated that Shudder gave them the green signal to start working on the third season filming the second because they were so impressed with the turn this anthology had taken. This third season does not have any information or title yet, except for its exclusive focus on the black community, but we know that it will also be airing later this year. Shudder believes that by exploring all the stories written and told by the black community members, Creepshow can help its horror-obsessed audience explore some hidden gems and even establish a future of horror that takes an extensive route.

Like many, makers of Creepshow sailed through the peak of the pandemic as smoothly as possible

While season 2 of Creepshow got delayed, makers tried their best to keep fans occupied with something. An animated special released on Halloween featured two scary stories. In December, they received a holiday special in the form of an episode, initially made for the second season, that ran for an entire hour and made it more detailed than it would have been in the anthology. Creepshow season 2 will be available to stream on Shudder and AMC+ starting April 1st.
