The highly anticipated spy series “Slow Horses,” starring Academy Award winner Gary Oldman, will premiere on Apple TV+ on Friday, April 1, 2022, with a first look. The six-part drama, based on Mick Herron’s first novel in the “Slow Horses” series, will premiere globally on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes, followed by one new episode every Friday.
“Slow Horses” is a film about a group of British intelligence agents who work at MI5’s dumping ground, Slough House. Gary Oldman plays Jackson Lamb, the clever but irascible head of the spies who ended up in Slough House as a result of their career-ending errors. In addition to Oldman, the ensemble cast includes Oscar nominee Kristin Scott Thomas (“Darkest Hour”), Academy Award candidate Jonathan Pryce (“The Two Popes”), BAFTA Scotland Award winner Jack Lowden (“Dunkirk”), and Olivia Cooke (“Dunkirk”) (“Sound of Metal”).
See-Saw Films will produce the series for Apple, and Will Smith is adapting it for television (“Veep”). Along with Smith, Graham Yost serves as an executive producer. Executive producers of the show include Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Gail Mutrux, and Douglas Urbanski. All six episodes are directed and executive produced by James Hawes.
Is “Slow Horses: Season 1” based on a true story?
It is a fictional story. The lifestyles of intelligence agents fascinate most of us. Some of the key roles of intelligence agents include traveling to locations, processing data, devising safety measures, conducting investigations, and assessing reports. However, every particle on this planet has both positive and negative characteristics.
What we don’t perceive is the possibility of surviving another moment. They are constantly in danger of being killed by their opponents, and their true identities are never revealed. Slow Horses is a show about the life of intelligence officers who make mistakes while carrying out their missions. The tile is paradoxical in that horses can never be slow while running until their lives are cut short by an unexpected external cause.
The “slow horses” are a few intelligence agents that made certain mistakes and have had their careers damaged as a result. As a punishment, they are now assigned to the ML5 dumping ground department. Jackson Lamb, their leader, is a pivotal figure who will aid the plot’s progression. Because of his disposition, he is well-known.
River Cartwright is also a key character in the series, as he has the chance to prove himself deserving of a better life if he can identify a kidnapper who kidnapped a man and threatened to kill him. But, to his amazement, he learns about society’s corruption when he discovers the kidnapper’s connection to a journalist while transcribing the mobile call. He also discovers how everyone in a system is motivated by personal gain. Chris Reilly, Gary Oldman, Rosalind Eleazar, Olivia Cooke, and more will appear in this series. The show is directed by James Hawes, while the concepts and scripts were created by Mick Herron and Will Smith.
