Just In Time For Halloween – Slumber Party Massacre Remake

The Slumber Party Massacre, a horror cult classic, was released in 1982. While it didn’t exactly set the Oscars on fire, it did fit right in with the slasher mania of the moment.

Other classic bloodbath films at the time were Friday the 13th, Black Christmas, Halloween, and others. Now, SyFy and Shout! Studios are working on their own remake of the Amy Holden-Jones gorefest, and we have the first look. As it attempts to cash in on the current horror renaissance, the reworking of the classic 80s slasher film Slumber Party Massacre brings a whole new set of victims to the party.

The horror remake will premiere at the Cannes Film Market, thus its first look has been revealed ahead of time in the form of a snapshot of the presumed guests of this specific slumber party peering through a window. We can only presume that there will be a mysterious person hiding outside, ready to reveal the carnage portion of the title.

The new version of the film, like the original, is written and directed by women, with Suzanne Keilly producing the script and Danishka Esterhazy directing the film.

The Slumber Party Massacre Remake has already secured a premiere on SyFy in the United States, and now it’s time to secure international distribution at the Cannes Film Market. The photograph was issued as part of the film’s promotion at the festival, which runs from tomorrow through the 15th of July, and will ideally help to generate enough interest for the film to be shown outside of the United States. The film will premiere on SyFY during their 31 Days of Halloween event.

Just in time for Halloween, a fresh contemporary twist-filled recreation of the 1982 slasher cult hit for the horror fan in you. As a crazy serial killer brandishing a power drill interrupts the enjoyment, a slumber party turns into a slaughter house. Catch the first look!
