Over the years, Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and most recently Tom Holland, have all played Peter Parker’s Spider-Man in live-action adaptations, but Miles Morales has yet to receive the same treatment. The character’s journey has been recounted on the big screen through animation in the Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which places him in a shared world known as the “Spider-Verse.” Miles Morales becomes the new Spider-Man after being bitten by a radioactive spider and witnessing the death of his world’s Peter Parker/ then he joins other Spider-People from multiple parallel realms to save New York City.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, starring Shameik Moore as Miles Morales and directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman, was a critical and commercial success, with a sequel set for release on October 7, 2022. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 is expected to focus more on Miles and Gwen Stacy’s relationship, with various different incarnations of Spider-Man and Spider-Woman thrown in for good measure.

Though it seems doubtful, some have speculated that the events of upcoming movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home would result in the introduction of a live-action Miles Morales, which Cedric Joe will undoubtedly be on the lookout for.
