Spirit Chronicles Season 2 – Everything We Know So Far

With popular anime series like “Isekai Quartet” and “KonoSuba,” the isekai genre has seen a surge in popularity among viewers. We like the concept of being taken into another wonderful world where skyscrapers are replaced by castles and airplanes are replaced by dragons. With the recent boom in the amount of isekai works, however, new anime series in the genre may struggle to stand out. When it first aired earlier last year, “Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles” aimed to accomplish this.

The animation is based on author Yuri Kitayama’s light novel series. The series follows a protagonist from our world who reawakens in another, but he also shares his consciousness with someone else.

The concept of rebirth is made a wonderful mess in “Spirit Chronicles,” which the isekai genre generally simplifies within the first episode’s opening sequence. By the time the first season of “Spirit Chronicles” came to a close, it’s safe to say that there were more questions than answers. But, thanks to the upcoming second season, we’ll get another chance to obtain some answers.

So far, this is what we know about Season 2 of “Spirit Chronicles.”

When will Spirit Chronicles Season 2 be released?

When will Spirit Chronicles Season 2 be released

“Spirit Chronicles” Season 1 ended in September 2021. While viewers may want much more than the show’s original 12-episode run, the bad news is that they’ll most likely have to wait for the next season. On November 5, 2021, the anime series’ official Twitter account confirmed that a second season was in the works. To commemorate the announcement, the tweet included a special Season 1 recap video. It did not, however, come with an official release date.

It’s necessary to consider that the first season of “Spirit Chronicles” was announced in late November 2020, with the first episode airing in July 2021. Season 2 was announced in November, so it’s probable that we’ll witness a repeat situation in which the next season premieres in summer 2022. Crunchyroll will almost certainly be involved in the Western distribution of “Spirit Chronicles” Season 2. Season 1 was being streamed on the streaming service while it was airing in Japan, then on December 27, 2021, an official English dub was released.

Who are the characters in Season 2 of Spirit Chronicles?

Who are the characters in Season 2 of Spirit Chronicles

Haruto Amakawa and Rio are the focus of Season 1 of “Spirit Chronicles.” Haruto is a young man from Japan who is killed in a horrible traffic accident. Rio, meanwhile, is a young man in a fantasy world who is orphaned after his mother is brutally murdered. The two personalities are linked by the fact that they appear to be the same person — or at least have the same mind. Rio is assumed to be a reincarnation of Haruto after he discovers Haruto’s previous life’s personality and memories.

Season 2 will probably highlight the two characters as they try to solve their unique problem. Celia Claire, Rio’s teacher, and Aishia, his contracted spirit, are among the cast of characters who are likely to return in Season 2. On the other side, fans will be hoping for the return of a key character.

Rio meets Miharu Ayase, Haruto’s childhood friend, who has also been recalled from modern-day Japan, near the end of Season 1. Miharu was extremely important to Haruto; thus, we may expect her to play a key role in the upcoming season.

What is the plot of Season 2 of Spirit Chronicles?

The first season of “Spirit Chronicles” focuses primarily on Rio’s life and how he deals with the realization that he is linked to Haruto. Rio prevents his companion Celia’s arranged marriage in the Season 1 finale.

He also learns that more people from his world have been reincarnated in Haruto’s. With this knowledge, it’s a reasonable guess that Season 2’s plot will reveal more about Rio’s connection to Haruto. Season 2 could also go into why Rio has become so powerful since discovering his Haruto link.

In terms of the original light novels, there is no doubt that “Spirit Chronicles” Season 2 has a lot to draw from. Season 1 of “Spirit Chronicles” covered the light novels up to Volume 5. The light novels continue to be published, and the 21st volume was just released in the spring of this year. That said, the anime series will have a lot more source material to draw inspiration from in the future seasons.
