There is an influx of the plus-sized culture. WeTV is getting a brand-new reality show about a plus-size women’s-only beauty salon in Las Vegas. The Babydoll Beauty Couture, created by Jamie Lopez to make larger ladies feel secure and gorgeous, will be featured in the series Super Sized Salon, which goes by the name.
The team of Babydoll Beauty Couture, the first beauty parlour to serve the plus-size population, will be put to the test as difficulties endanger the salon’s purpose in the new WeTV series Super Sized Salon, which will premiere on June 16. Super Sized Salon, a seven-part, one-hour television series, debuts on WE tv on Friday, July 29 at 10:30pm ET/PT. Every Tuesday after it airs on WE tv, the series will also stream on ALLBLK.
Viewers will get to meet Lopez’s closest friend “007,” who is all about satisfying clients through fashion, the upbeat receptionist Astra, aka “Funky Chunky,” who breaks the tension when things start to pop off, the fiery hair specialist “A-Love,” who isn’t afraid to pop off, the celebrity hairstylist and makeup artists Taj, who is the most level-headed among them all, and aesthetician BB, who is unapologetically blunt.
Viewers can undoubtedly anticipate drama in every episode in a salon full of people with diverse personalities, all the while achieving their goal of making plus-sized women feel attractive. In addition to the intense drama, the new series’ trailer video hints that there will also be tender moments sprinkled throughout. The teasers make it clear that Lopez has trouble walking, which is enticing. Watching the programme, of course, is the only way to solve the mysteries surrounding that situation.
The Mirror claims that Babydoll Beauty Couture was initially established in Los Angeles and remained there for five years before Lopez was forced to relocate it to Las Vegas as a result of repeated death threats and the discovery that the business had once been vandalised by having faeces all over the windows.
According to Lopez, “people simply don’t like obese people, and they treat us brutally.” “They aim to give us the impression that we are unwanted or that we don’t belong here. It has been insane. Someone really threw faeces on my store’s windows, and my air conditioning and salon signage were also smashed.
Jamie Lopez, the owner of Babydoll Beauty Couture, founded this distinctive location as a result of the severe prejudice she encountered because she is plus-sized in the beauty industry. The women who work here are committed to helping everyone feel and look beautiful, regardless of size, but with their outspoken personalities and loud personalities, drama is always around the corner!
The new show centres on salon receptionist Astra, often known as “Funky Chunky,” who is adored by everybody for her positive outlook and ability to hold the group together under pressure. A-Love, a holistic hair care practitioner, is passionate about life and always makes people laugh, but occasionally her “boughto” temper gets the better of her.
One of Jamie’s closest (and most guarded) acquaintances is fashion stylist “007,” who provides customers with the sexiest plus-size intimates and one-of-a-kind jewellery. Taj, a celebrity hairdresser and makeup artist, takes over as the salon manager when Jamie is away and is the calm, responsible “mother bear” of the group. Last but not least is BB, a makeup/lash artist and esthetician who doesn’t mind saying things how they are!
Will this team be able to maintain their composure as the heat rises in the workplace, where there are clashing personalities and ongoing drama? Are they going to be able to work together to overcome it and complete their ultimate goal of empowering all women to feel beautiful?
