War has served as a compelling backdrop in innumerable films, movies, television episodes, and even comic books.
With the Allies marching in the final days of WWII, a desperate Nazi general unearths an ancient power of evil that he hopes would change the war tide: a vampire. He releases the monster on an unsuspecting group of Allied POWs to test the power of his secret weapon. It’s up to Nocona, a Comanche linguist, to converse with the vampire and discover what it truly desires.
OUT, a World War II-set tale of dread about a group of POWs coming face to face with an evil perhaps larger than the Nazis who have captured them, will hit your local comic book shop on October 6th.
It’s a creepy slow-burn of a story with well-rounded characters and an intriguing lead, culminating in a shocking climactic scene that sets the tone for the terrifying sequels to come.

To help exclusively announce the comic’s publication, OUT writer Rob Williams spoke with Bloody Disgusting about the comic’s beginnings and story.
OUT, according to Williams, is one of those things that just feels right. The Great Escape is taking place, but there’s a vampire in the POW camp. These people need to get out of here and they have a duty to try to rejoin the war – the camp is a Colditz-style castle that they can’t get out of. But when the Nazis put a vampire in with them and it begins to consume the soldiers one by one, they have no choice but to flee.
They also have a lead character who is quite unusual. Nocona is a code talker for the Comanche tribe. A Native American who is fluent in multiple languages, it distinguishes him from his other detainees and adds a layer of race to the plot. He is gay and n terms of WW2 fiction, that’s something you don’t see much of.
