How Did Michael Myers Survive The Fire? We Might Have Some Answers

Michael Myers goes on a new rampage in Halloween Kills, and the trailer might show how he managed to survive the fire.

The teaser for Halloween Kills may have revealed how Michael Myers survived the fire in the last film. The Halloween film franchise is no stranger to sequels, having been rebooted several times throughout the years. Halloween 2018 started over, discarding every previous entry except the 1978 original and deleting the polarising sibling twist introduced in Halloween 2.

The ultimate product was a fun slasher that resurrected Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode and resurrected Michael Myers as a terrifying force of nature. On a minimal budget, Blumhouse’s Halloween was a great hit, generating over $250 million worldwide. With those statistics, a sequel was a foregone conclusion, especially since the film ended on an unclear note for Michael. He was stuck in Laurie’s booby-trapped basement with a raging fire in the final scene, yet he seemed to vanish in the final shot of the blazing chamber.

Laurie had a safe area beneath her kitchen, which contained a locker constructed into a wall loaded with weapons, according to Halloween 2018. A quick image of Michael coming from behind this locker door is seen in the current Halloween Kills trailer, with the weapons visible behind him. He then emerges from the doorway to assault an unfortunate firefighter who has tumbled into the cellar.

Laurie had built up the basement to be an unavoidable death trap, and it was impossible to see how Michael could have survived it by the end of Halloween 2018. Myers took refuge in Laurie’s weapon storage area before emerging when firefighters broke through in the Halloween Kills trailer, which offers a fuller image.

This further blurs the lines between Michael being a man and a phantom in the film. While his survival is improbable, Halloween Kills makes it appear plausible that a person may have survived the fire. Unfortunately for the residents of Haddonfield, his survival will come at a high cost.

We can only wait and see.
