What would a summer be without a humorous action pair on the big screen? Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson feature in The Man from Toronto, which is a regular saga of true stories.
While Hart is well-known for his comic abilities, having performed in front of sold-out audiences, some may be surprised to learn that Harrelson has a background in stand-up comedy. For those unfamiliar with Harrelson’s Cheers days, he was nominated for an Emmy in 1989 for Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series. As a result, this new film has a strong possibility of making audiences laugh when it is released.
Is “The Man From Toronto” based on a true story?
“The Man From Toronto” is a fictional comedy genre movie. Longtime screw-up Terry (Kevin Hart) is mistaken for a lethal assassin (Woody Harrelson) at an Airbnb in The Man from Toronto. They’ll try not to irritate one other while they try to sort out the mess. Terry, in particular, will strive to avoid being killed in the process.
It certainly seems like the type of action-comedy that has previously qualified as a summer blockbuster (even if it’s only available on Netflix).
Kevin Hart, the comedian, leads the cast of The Man from Toronto. This isn’t Hart’s first step into the world of action-comedy; he’s also been in Ride Along, Central Intelligence, and the Jumanji films.
Alongside Hart, Woody Harrelson portrays a frightening assassin. Harrelson has been an actor for more than four decades. Harrelson has been a part of some of Hollywood’s most iconic productions, from his early days on Cheers to his Oscar-nominated performance in The People vs Larry Flynt to his depiction of Haymitch Abernathy in the immensely popular Hunger Games film.
Kaley Cuoco (The Flight Attendant), Jasmine Mathews (The Tomorrow War), Ellen Barkin (Animal Kingdom), Lela Loren (Power), Pierson Fode (The Bold and the Beautiful), Tomohisa Yamashita (Tokyo Vice), Alejandro De Hoyos (The Contractor), and Jencarlos Canela (Grand Hotel) are among the cast members.
Patrick Hughes is the captain of The Man from Toronto. Hughes has a history of directing action-comedy duos. The Hitman’s Bodyguard and The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, both starring Samuel L. Jackson and Ryan Reynolds, are among his prior works. He also directed The Expendables 3: The Final Chapter.
Starting June 24, The Man from Toronto will be available exclusively on Netflix. Those who have been monitoring the post-production of the film may recall that it was initially set for an August theatrical release. The streaming service remained tight-lipped about when the film will be accessible to users after acquiring the rights until recently.
