The New Jurassic Film Is On Its Way And It Might Just Outdo Its Predecessors

In 2022, the adventure fantasy film ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ will be hitting the theatres. Directed by Colin Trevorrow and starring Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy), this feature film will be the seventh addition to the franchise. Trevorrow has directed two other films in the film series- 2015’s ‘Jurassic World’ and 2019’s short film ‘Battle at Big Rock’. Pratt has starred in the former. The first Jurassic film, directed by Steven Spielberg, was released in 1993, making fans feel thankful to not exist at the same time as real dinosaurs. Palaeontologist Jack Horner worked actively as the scientific advisor on four of the films and said it was “the closest I’ve ever been to a live dinosaur”.

    What we know

Director Trevorrow has told Entertainment Weekly that to him, Dominion is a celebration and a “culmination of one story that’s been told.” He said that through this film, he aims to tell a complete story that the audience could not grasp from the first trilogy and that the newer generation will have six, as opposed to three, Jurassic films to watch and enjoy. Not just Chris Pratt but many more faces, both familiar and new, will be making an appearance in this new instalment, including Jeff Goldbum, Laura Dern, Sam Neill, and many more.

Colin Trevorrow is currently busy working on the Netflix animated series ‘Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous’ and the feature film still being far off. Most plot details absent. Not much can be known about what one can expect. The only two confirmed details right now are the release date of June 10th, 2022, and that the dinosaurs will now be taking over the mainland, pushing humans to the bottom of the food chain.
