The second season of The Other One debuted on BBC One on Friday, May 6 at 9:00 p.m. The last episode will run on BBC One on June 3 at 9:30 p.m.

The Other One: What is the narrative?
After the series’ drunken conclusion, Cat (Lauren Socha) must remind Cathy (Ellie White) that they have a brother named Callum and that she once kissed him.
While Cathy questions the morality of admiring a sibling, Cat is eager to welcome Callum into the family. While Cathy is struggling with the notion that she snogged her own brother and harbours feelings for him, Cat is over the moon to discover about Callum, according to Ellie. “Callum’s entrance puts a barrier between Cathy and Cat and enables for fresh conflict between them.”
The Other One: Give us some background on the new kid Callum…
For Callum, learning that he has two sisters—and that he snogged one of them!—and that the guy he mistakenly believed to be his father isn’t actually his father, is a lot to process.
Callum is first shocked, has a lot to deal with, and needs his space, according to Christopher Jeffers, who plays him on Bridgerton. But Cat has other plans, so Callum is forced to dive right into learning what life is like with siblings after being an only kid.

I had to sort of navigate my relationship with a new dad and these new siblings when I recently discovered that I had sisters, he adds. “I suppose that helped me play the character because I had just just gone through something similar. But I hadn’t kissed a sister of mine!”

Along with Ellie, Lauren, and Chris, Siobhan Finneran from The Stranger, Rebecca Front from Doctor Thorne, and Michele Austin from This Is Going to Hurt all return for this series as Cat’s mother Marilyn and Cathy’s mother Tess, respectively. Later in the series, Caroline Quentin makes another appearance as Aunt Dawn.
The Other One: Is Cathy’s neurosis still present?
Yes, absolutely, replies Ellie. “Cathy is a stereotypically repressed, middle-class girl who enjoys netball but has never been trained to express her feelings in an open way. Before meeting Cat, Cathy had no concept of what fun was. We notice that Cathy is enjoying life a little bit more now that she has really helped her discover that aspect of herself.
The Second: Is Cat still as ferocious?
Cathy and her louder-than-life sister Cat, whose clothes are even louder than she is, frequently spar.
Lauren says, “Cat’s such a flashy, wonderful, cheerful character to play.” She has a very unconventional sense of style, which heightens the humor of the character because most of the time, she resembles a clown. Cat is similar to Mr. Tumble from CBeebies in female form.

Lauren claims, “Me and Ellie are polar opposites as humans. But the reason this show is so great is that we share the exact same sense of humor.
