    The Prince of Tennis II: U-17 World Cup is an upcoming Japanese manga anime. It follows the manga The Prince of Tennis II. Takeshi Konomi has written and done the illustrations. The manga has been in publication since March 2009, in the Japanese youth magazine- Jump Square, managed by Shueisha- a Japanese entertainment company. The Prince of Tennis II: U-17 World Cup is a sequel to the previous launch- The Prince of Tennis II.

    Before the release, let’s have a look at the storyline. Ryoma Echizen- is a tall, and young man who comes back to Japan after he visits America. Now, as he has returned to Japan, he wants to stand as a candidate in the under-17 High School Representatives Selection Camp for Tennis. Though to be selected for the under-17 team, the competition will be really tough. As approximately 50 or more students will be participating. How will he compete with other representatives? Will he be able to get selected and secure himself a place in the under-17 Tennis Team?

    In season one, we saw that Ryoma successfully gets selected for the Junior High school team. Further, he participates in the shuffle match, against Seigaku and Takeshi Momoko. The series managed to keep all the characters engaged. Even the losers were assigned the task of climbing a mountain and facing the obstacle there. Among the losers, we have seen our protagonist- Ryoma as well.

    The news regarding the production of the second season of anime was announced on October 10, 2021. The announcement was made during the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Prince of Tennis. “I can fly” will be the opening theme song by Yoshiki Ezaki and Bleecker Chrome. The ending theme song- “Dear Friends” is produced by TeniPriArtistars.

Ryoma along with the others successfully climbs the mountains. In the end, Ryoma won as he played in the court 2. The story will pick up from here and will introduce further opponents that the Ryoma will face.

    The Prince of Tennis II: U-17 World Cup will be amongst those very few anime that will indulge in sports.  In the anime, the fans will see the team spirit as well as individual competition. The anime will get over the fans through its sports spirit. In order to survive the competition, harsh training would be followed. It remains a question of who all participants would be able to combat with the competition and who all will give up in the middle of it?

    Tough tournaments will also form a part of this anime series. It’s through participation in these competitions that the players will sharpen their games and will survive in the long run, achieving their goals. The anime will resonate with the real struggle which goes on in the field of sports. In the series, we have seen many tournaments between various participants like- Ice emperor vs. Akibe and Seigaku vs Kaido.

    The team training under the coach Irido Mifune will be under very strict discipline. Hence, it will be the seen how the students deal with it. The training will cover not only physical but mental tasks as well- like stealing, and sportsman hunting.
