The Saga Of Tanya The Evil Season 2 – Everything We Know So Far

If your isekai protagonist doesn’t reincarnate as a slime, a spider, or something radically different from who they were before, you might be behind the curve. “The Saga of Tanya the Evil” does not disappoint in this area.

The protagonist of “Tanya the Evil” finds himself reincarnating into the body of a young girl in an alternate version of WWI Imperial Germany, however not as extreme as becoming a slime in a fantasy realm. Even still, Tanya’s culture shock and the disparity between her appearance, setting, and brutal habits make this 2017 animation — based on author Carlo Zen’s original Japanese web novel — a captivating notion from the start.

Tanya’s journey seemed to be coming to an end until recently, which was disheartening. With no new content since the anime’s 2019 film, fans of “The Saga of Tanya the Evil” were not only wanting for more but were starving for it. Thankfully, food is on the way since the show is returning for a second season, which has been much awaited. Here’s all we know about the upcoming project thus far.

When will Season 2 of The Saga of Tanya the Evil be released?

When will Season 2 of The Saga of Tanya the Evil be released

Fans of “The Saga of Tanya the Evil” were unsure if they would ever see another episode of this dark isekai until it was announced in June 2021. The anime’s first season ended in 2017, and the film had been aired two years ago. Kadokawa released the first trailer announcing the production of the famous anime’s second season on June 19, 2021.

That’s the only trailer announced, aside from a small snippet of voice-over promising the story to come. There was no indication of a probable release date for this much-anticipated product from Kadokawa. Based on the average production cycle for anime, Season 2 of “The Saga of Tanya the Evil” could debut as early as 2022. Fans shouldn’t be surprised if it takes longer than that, given Kadokawa’s lack of information. Regardless, many fans will be overjoyed to see their favorite evil grade-schooler return to combat.

What would this saga be without Tanya Degurechaff? The small tyrant’s moment to shine has arrived, and they’re not taking crap from anyone, including God, as Tanya is known to do. Tanya, a once-ruthless atheist businessman, was given a second chance at life after being murdered by one of the individuals he fired, simply for disagreeing with a being who claimed to be God.

Tanya’s natural remorselessness and innate magical affinity gain her a command post in the Imperial Army even as a kid when she is reincarnated as a tiny blonde girl living on an alternate Earth where magic exists. Tanya exhibits efficient cruelty on the battlefield with their comrades, Visha and Colonel Rerugen, in the hopes of being promoted to a calm desk position. Tanya is unfortunately forced to fight on the front lines of the Empire’s never-ending battles on a regular basis.

That’s also not a coincidence. Tanya refers to the entity claiming to be God as “Being X,” who purposefully orchestrates situations to force Tanya to invoke God’s name to complete chores. Being X, on the other hand, gives power to characters like Mary Souix, a US soldier seeking vengeance on Tanya for killing her father. As a result, Tanya is on her own to oppose God and live another day.

To be honest, Tanya is nearly back to square one at this point. While the little imperialist had advanced rapidly in rank since joining the military, they couldn’t keep their new desk job for long. Tanya lost their research post in favor of another front-line command position at the end of the 2019 film, with the sole purpose of putting their combined arms tactics research to the test. The situation’s irony is palpable.

Of course, it was Being X, who is still on a mission to convert Tanya, a devout atheist, who arranged all of this. Being X has even given Mary Souix, who has a grudge against Tanya, his blessing. All of this ties in with the growing tension teased in the Season 2 trailer.

As the trailer’s voice-over notes, the Empire’s warlike tactics have earned them enemies on all sides. The conflict has erupted once more as a result of the world’s fear of them. The person doing the voice-over, however, has a plan to “rectify the mistake,” which entails the removal of a single officer. This officer is rumored to be Tanya, but we won’t know for sure until we discover more about Season 2. Tanya will, in any case, be thrust back into the line of fire when Season 2 is finally released.
