The Trailer For A Writer’s Odyssey Gives Viewers A Glimpse At The Beautiful Fantasy World Of Lu Yang

Drama fantasy titled A Writer’s Odyssey will be releasing today in theatres and select drive-ins in the US. This CMC Pictures film is directed by Lu Yang (The Wandering Earth, 2019) and tells the story of a man who searches for his daughter, facing and fighting violent obstacles on the way. The film stars Tong Liya (Detective Chinatown, 2015), Yang Mi (Beauty’s Rival in Palace, 2010), Jiayin Lei (The First Half of my Life, 2017), Dong Zijian (Mountains May Depart, 2015), Jingfei Guo (Hanson and the Beast, 2017) and Hewei Yu (Three Kingdoms, 2010).

    Trailer breakdown for the film

The trailer looks fantastical as we see flying dragon lanterns, breath-taking landscapes and can also hear an awe-inspiring cinematic score. From the little we get to see in the trailer, it seems like this film will be taking a page out of Inkheart’s book and have things written on paper coming to life. As we saw in Inkheart, this may seem all fun and games initially but soon turns disastrous. We know a boy typing things on his computer as the landscape switches between modern and ancient, and this boy may be the one who can control the things happening to the father-daughter duo. While using any means possible to save his daughter, the two encounters a demon God named Redmane, seemingly the film’s main antagonist. However, challenging him will not be easy as backed by thousands of worshippers, Redmane has inhuman powers that no one can compare.
