These Homeless Supes With Odd Powers Were Abandoned By Their Parents Now They Want To Kill Them All

Welcome back to our channel! Today, we will speak about The Boys Presents: Diabolical in more detail. Today, we will discuss the second episode. No episode can be spoiled because the payout is revealed in the title. The voyage itself is the objective here. You are either up for it or not depending on how much gruesome cartoon agony you can take.

But given the options, why would you choose to watch something else? Let us be clear: this is essentially a really bizarre Rick and Morty episode in terms of plot, tone, animation, and Justin Roiland’s voice.

There is more to it, though, thanks to a wonderful supporting voice cast that features Christian Slater, who delivers a stronger performance here than in The Inside Job. So let us get right to the details without further ado! Ah yes, spoilers ahead, of course! A whole lot of them.

Episode 2 – An Animated Short Where Pissed-Off Supes Kill Their Parents

Episode 2 - An Animated Short Where Pissed-Off Supes Kill Their Parents

“An Animated Short Where Pissed-Off Supes Kill Their Parents” takes The Boys: Diabolical’s animation crashing into the contemporary day, delivering exactly what the title promises. The characters and environs are drawn in the current cartoon comedy style of Rick & Morty, with shot framing and self-referential, crass humor fitting that pattern as well – notably the kids’ deadly montage, which looks pretty comparable to a Rick Sanchez disaster.

That’s thanks to Justin Roiland, co-creator of the iconic sci-fi cartoon series and co-writer of this episode of The Boys: Diabolical. Mighty Animation, which worked on Rick & Morty season 5, also created “An Animated Short Where Pissed-Off Supes Kill Their Parents.”

This episode begins in a facility for gifted superheroes. Only, gifted is definitely an exaggeration. What happens when there are heroes who fail? Those with abilities that no one wants. Okay, let’s note the supes that have been shown here and their powers.

There is Mo-Slo, who is the opposite of a speedster, there is Boombox, whose got a speaker for a head and which can play only one song, “Only Wanna Be With You” by Hooties and the Blowfish. There’s Fang, who just has a weird set of teeth. Kingdom, who can turn into any animal but unfortunately his mind also transforms into the animals’ mind and he thinks like an animal as well.

There is Aqua Agua who is nothing but a colorful liquid; his colours resemble those of the Mexican Flag. There is a giant named Big. There is Human Tongue that is 100% Muscle and No bone. Man, this list is getting exhaustive and weird. There is Picante Balls, and he can literally melt anything with his testicles.

Ranch Dressing Cum Squirter and Boobie Face have no powers as such; what they have is pretty self-explanatory from their names. There is the Narrator who narrates the story, there is Flashback who can see the past of anyone, and there is Papers who can locate any paper anywhere, but he has a challenging weakness, he is unable to understand what’s on what paper. And last but not the least the Protagonist, Ghost, who can walk through objects and walls.

These rejects get together and discover that Vought is the one who creates superheroes with Compund V. So off they go, Ghost leading the way to visit Denis, the man in charge of Vought Parental Protection. They want the data on their parents, intent on exacting their vengeance. So the group sets off on the road again, picking on on their parents one by one. A strange and gory montage follows with the only song that Boombox can play, with Mo-Slo slowly murdering his father in a hilarious scene.

The Human Tongue constricts itself against his parents like a Python and squeezes them to death. Fang helps Aqua Agua kill his parents by dropping a Television in the inflatable pool in which they were, umm… let’s just say, chilling. Boombox kills his parents by increasing the volume to the extent of bursting their eardrums.

One of the most fun kills is by Kingdom, who pours a bucket of blood on his parents and transforms himself into a Great White Shark to chomp them down. Boobie Face shoots his mother after Flashback shows everyone how cruel she is underneath her mask of kindness. Big crushes his parents’ heads inside a car. Fang kills his father by tearing off his Neck with her teeth. Picante Ball melts his father’s face with his Testicles. Then, in the end, Ghost kills his father by getting inside Mo-Slo and stabbing him in the face!

Unfortunately, their rampage is cut short as Homelander emerges, murdering everyone in cold blood except Ghost, who is impenetrable even by Homelander’s laser. Ghost assures her mother that she will return. As the episode concludes, The Narrator has the last laugh, killing his father and narrating that he’s placed his own father’s face on, gazing in the mirror, and saying, “I love you.”

This episode does a great job of depicting the dangers of superhero powers and how everything may go wrong if you’re granted poor powers by default. This adds an emotional tone to the proceedings, with these youngsters abandoned by their parents but eventually desiring to be loved by them.

There’s obviously an undercurrent of melancholy and sadness for these kids, yet there are enough callbacks and references to the original Boys series to make you feel like it belongs in the same universe.

Here’s a piece of Trivia, Papers, played by Justin Roiland, famous for voicing Morty from Rick & Morty, has the same voice as Morty, which is a little disconcerting. Still, it’s not a deal-breaker because this episode concludes an otherwise excellent chapter. That’s it for this one, folks.
