When Is Thirteen Lives (2022) Releasing?

The biographical dramatic thriller Thirteen Lives, directed by Ron Howard, will be released in theatres and will later be available for streaming on Prime Video later this year. It is based on the true story of the rescue operation in Thailand to free a group of young boys and their football trainer from their underground caves. The 18-day 2018 event displayed incredible perseverance and proved that, occasionally, against all obstacles, you can achieve the seemingly impossible.

The junior soccer team’s rescue from the tourist cave of Tham Luang Nang Non in Thailand’s Chiang Rai Province captivated the world’s attention in the summer of 2018. The incident is now the basis for the upcoming Ron Howard historical drama film Thirteen Lives. A trailer for the movie has finally been released, four years after the occurrence.

The movie dramatises what happened after an unexpected rainfall filled the underground tunnels with water, trapping 12 young boys and their soccer coach within. Expert divers, including Navy SEALs, helped to develop a plan to rescue the soccer players from the cave as part of a global effort to assure the boys’ and their coach’s safe return to their families.

The new clip illustrates the rescue team’s impossibly steep odds. It requires a specific kind of mindset for deep-cave diving, the narration explains in the opening moments of the movie as images of both terrifying faces of anxiety and stunning Thailand scenery flash across the screen. You have to be a tad bit crazy,” and “The whole country is waiting anxiously to see what will happen next.” Beginning on July 29, a select number of cinemas will host the film’s world premiere before it is transferred to Amazon Prime Video on August 5.

The cast of Thirteen Lives includes Tom Bateman, who is best known for playing Guiliano de’ Medici in Da Vinci’s Demons, Viggo Mortensen, who played Aragorn in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and Joel Edgerton from The Gift and The Great Gatsby. Irish superstar Colin Farrell, who recently wrapped up filming The Batman, where he played the Penguin, also appears. Actors Paul Gleeson, Pattrakorn Tungsupakul, Tui Thiraphat Sajakul, James Teeradon Supapunpinyo, Sahajak Boonthanakit, and Weir Sukollawat Kanaros all make appearances in the movie.

Ron Howard’s Thai cave rescue film Thirteen Lives is changing its release date from Easter weekend to Friday, November 18, putting it into the heart of award season after receiving what are rumoured to be the top test results in MGM history.

The movie is the kind that needs a lot of publicity, and I hear the studio will be screening it a lot in the fall. It was written by two-time Oscar-nominated screenwriter William Nicholson. A 97 in the above two boxes and an 86 for definite recommendation were awarded to Thirteen Lives. In August of last year, MGM and UAR showcased footage from Thirteen Lives at CinemaCon.

The tagline of Thirteen Lives: In Thailand, a rescue effort is organised for a group of young boys and their football coach who are stranded in a network of flooding underground tunnels. Joel Edgerton, Colin Farrell, and Viggo Mortensen are the stars. The film is sponsored by Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer, Howard, and Karen Lunder, Storyteller Productions’ P.J. van Sandwijk, and Magnolia Mae’s Gabrielle Tana.

Ridley Scott’s House of Gucci, which earned over $52 million domestically and nearly $129 million globally, was the highest-grossing drama during the pandemic, according to MGM through its distribution and marketing arm United Artists Releasing. Three SAG Awards are being considered for the film, including Best Ensemble, Best Supporting Actor (Jared Leto), and Best Actress (Lady Gaga).

Whatever you may think about adults not returning to the movies during the pandemic, Paul Thomas Anderson’s Licorice Pizza is also holding very well (roughly -28 percent average over seven weekends, excluding its expansion during a nine-weekend run). It is currently earning $10.78 million domestically, surpassing the director’s previous film, Inherent Vice, which was set in 1970s Los Angeles and brought in $8.1M.

On February 18 and February 25, respectively, UAR will release the Channing Tatum film Dog and the Joe Wright-directed musical Cyrano.

Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures and BRON Creative are the companies presenting the survival movie. Along with Storyteller and Magnolia Mae Films, Thirteen Lives is also produced by Howard and Brian Grazer’s production business, Imagine Entertainment. Don Macpherson and William Nicholson wrote the story, and Nicholson also wrote the script. Jon Kuyper, Carolyn Marks Blackwood, Marie Savare, Michael Lesslie, Aaron L. Gilbert, and Jason Cloth are the executive producers of Thirteen Lives.
