In his light novel This Makes My Second Otherworldly Summon, Kazuha Kishimoto took on the isekai genre and gave it a twist we couldn’t have predicted. He made the isekai protagonist go from rags to riches and then to rags again all at once, and the story becomes surprisingly engaging at this point.

What will be the plot of This Makes My Second Otherworldly Summon?
Suzaki Setsu, an unpopular high-schooler, is summoned to another world, per the generic plot. Setsu is summoned to the world of Eclair to protect the lands of Destinia from demons and beats.
Isn’t that what you’re expecting? Just hold your breath until you hear what happens next.
Setsu, of course, grows into a powerful hero adored by all. The king is terrified of Setsu’s strength and abilities, so he sends him back to his original world as a baby to start over.
Despite the fact that this was unjust and unfair, Setsu was powerless to stop it and began his life, only to return to his previous life as a gloomy high-schooler. However, despite the fact that he was able to keep his powers from Eclair, due to the lack of grave dangers in his world, he never bothered to use them.
Setsu’s entire class is summoned by the same king in the same place on an average day in his mundane life. Despite the fact that no one recognized Setsu, he retained all of his memories from his previous life and embarked on a quest to learn the truth about what happened after he vanished.
There is also a manga adaptation, which features some fantastic artwork by Arashiyama. The isekai genre might be overdoing it nowadays, but this harem-comedy one is worth a try.

From March 2015 to December 2016, Kishimoto wrote the comedy-fantasy novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website, followed by nine epilogue chapters between February 2017 and last October. In October 2015, Futabasha began printing the series under its Monster Bunko imprint, and in July 2017, the fifth and final volume was released.
In June 2018, Arashiyama began drawing a manga adaptation for the Monster Comics website’s Web Comic Action portal. The seventh volume was released on December 28, 2021, which includes the anime announcement on its wraparound band.
A typical isekai protagonist is summoned to another world, where he becomes a legendary hero. The real story begins when a mishap returns the hero to his original world, where he was nothing more than a lame high schooler, and he also has to start over as a baby.
When will This Makes My Second Otherworldly Summon be released?
Since the announcement of the anime in October of last year, we haven’t really gotten any new updates about the production of the anime and the release date so far. But, if we assume that the studio had already begun production when the anime was announced, then it should be released in the Fall 2022 or the Winter 2023 anime seasons.
