What started as a manga of To Your Eternity was soon followed by an anime television series seeing its growing popularity. The illustrations and plot have been worked upon by Yoshitoki Oima. In November 2016, the series started its publication in a weekly youth magazine. By August 2021 a total of sixteen volumes were in publication. Season one of the anime has already aired.
The story presented in season one followed a different and unique storyline which gathered huge appreciation. A season second is to be aired soon. Before its release let’s have a look at what all has happened in season one to have a quick catch-up.
The story revolves around the character of Fushi. Fushi is an immortal orbwho also has the power to transform himself into different forms. To feel the humanity and to understand the dynamics of the human life he takes the form of a village boy. Living and working between humans, causes the stone-hearted Fushi to melt. As he takes his human form, he meets March who teaches him the basics of speech.
He saves March from a giant white bear Oniguma. Soon after this, he along with March, Parona, and Pioran continue hisjourney. On the path, they are captured by Hayase in a country named Yanome. As they struggle to free themselves, March is killed. She takes the form of a spirit to stay alongside Fushi. In order to save trouble from Hayase, who was obsessed to claim Fushi, he leaves Parona and Ninannah.
As he takes another journey with Pioran to her homeland Takunaha, he encounters a new attack from a plant look-alike creature called Nokker. TheNokker species were capable to snatch Fushi’s memories. While handling these attacks from Nokkers, he meets Gugu and Rean who become his friends eventually. The attacks keep following in the coming four years and eventually, Gugu is killed too and transformed into a spirit.
On the other hand, Hayase doesn’t stop. He drafts a plan to capture Fushi with the help of Tonari. He captures Pioran. To save her, Fushi enters into a battle against Hayase but loses eventually. She tries to rape him after capturing him. Mia, Oopa, and all other friends of Fushi come forward to help him. Facing an attack from the Nokkers at the same time, three of Fushi’s friends are killed. He escapes the island with Hayase, only to leave her in the ocean to die.
When will the season second of the anime To Your Eternity is set to air?
The season second will be released in October 2022. The first season was produced by Brain’s Base and aired from April to August 2021. Being a television series, it aired on a Japanese channel- NHK Educational TV. For international fans, the manga series has been licensed by Kodansha USA for publication for English readers. A trailer has been released of the second season.
What will follow the plot of the anime To Your Eternity Season 2?
Fushi reunites with Pioran at the end of the battle, but she doesn’t have much time. At the end of season one, we saw the death of Pioran. Her last desire was to stay useful toFushi, hence she requested the beholder and was rebirthed as a horse.
Season one ends with tons of questions left. The fans are excited to know the fate of the anoagonist- Hayame. What happens to her in the ocean will be revealed in the season second. The fate of the spirits of March and Gugu will also be shown. The plot will also work upon Fushi’s character development. More villains are also expected to be introduced. The question is also alive about the fate of Nokkers.
The fans can surely hope for a better action plot with enhanced powers of Fushi alongside a strong villain. The season will resolve the mysteries left unaddressed in the previous season.
