We recently learned that a new Transformers film was in the works. We also learned that it will feature Beast Wars charactersand that it would be released in theatres next year.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is being marketed as a bridge between Bumblebee and the first Transformers film from 2007, serving as both a sequel and a prequel to both. While the character of Mirage, as well as Optimus Prime, who has been confirmed as the next film’s protagonist once again, have already been seen in prior films, this time we also get some fresh meat in the form of the Predacons and Terrorcons. Director Steve Caple Jr highlighted introducing something new to the series during a recent news conference.

Now that Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is in the works, we’ve gotten our first look at what appears to be Mirage’s automobile form, as seen in Transformers: Age of Extinction. Images from the current filming that were released on social media appeared to be the first glimpse at a pair of silver Porches, which are the “alternative” type of Mirage in the series.
Optimus Prime returns as the core of the franchise in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, which is set in 1994 and features a G1 Optimus Prime after Bumblebee took a vacation from the character. While both the Autobots and the Decepticons will appear in the film, it is the Predacons and Terracons that will breathe fresh life into the franchise, as well as continue the new style exhibited in 2018’s Bumblebee, which was warmly appreciated. There are a lot of nostalgia-themed properties out there right now, and returning Transformers to the 1990s would undoubtedly capitalise on that. The film Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is scheduled to hit theatres on June 24, 2022.
