Hotonodoshindeiru created the manga series- Uncle from Another World. The publication of the series began in Kadokawa Shoten magazine ComicWalker in June 2018. A total of seven volumes have been published as of February 2022. The growing popularity of manga amongst international readers resulted in the decision to make an anime based on the manga plot. Atelier Pontdarc will be looking after the production of the series. The manga has also been licensed by Yen Press- an American manga publisher company in North America.
Before the release of the anime, let’s have a look at the storyline of the manga for familiarity with the characters. The story goes back to seventeen years when Takafumi’s uncle experienced a coma. With very little hope left for his betterment, out of the blue, one day he rises from the coma, gaining his consciousness back.
But the trouble begins for Takafumi. He starts to observe the changes in his uncle’s behavior and not only this, he sees that his uncle has developed a crazy liking for video games. As he keeps on living with him, he discovers that his uncle was transported to some other world, where he played the role of their hero.
He is thrilled to know this secret as well as he has been assigned the responsibility to teach his uncle the gadgets of the 21st century. Takafumi makes his uncle familiar with computer devices, smartphones, the internet, and modern communication ways. As his uncle attended the errands of the other world, Takafumi looked after him to educate him to keep him updated on this world.
The series will involve a number of characters. Some of the major ones are- Uncle voiced by Takehito Koyasu. Takafumi Takaoka voiced by Jun Fukuyama. Sumika Fujimiya voiced by Mikako Komatsu. Tsundere Elf is voiced by Haruka Tomatsu, Mabel Laybelle by Aoi Yuki, and Alicia Edelsia by Aki Toyosaki.
Is there an anime season for the manga Uncle from Another World?
It has been confirmed that an anime adaptation will take place. The announcement has been made on June 18, 2021. Shigeki Kawai will be the director of the series. Series scripts will be managed by Kenta Ihara. The team will also include Kazuhiro Ota as the character designer. Mayu Maeshima produced the opening theme song “story”, whereas the ending theme song “Ichibanboshi Sonority” is produced by Yuka Iguchi.
When will the anime season one of Uncle from Another World will air?
The series will be released in July 2022. No particular date has been announced. The number of episodes remains unknown now. The number of seasons is also not confirmed.
What will follow the storyline of the anime Uncle from Another World Season 1?
As we have known the story about Takafumi and his uncle, who suddenly recovered from his coma, the anime will become more interesting. The anime will deal with the coma phase of his Uncle. Troubles of Takafumi to teach his uncle about the new devices of this century will add humor to the series.
It will be revealed in the story only, to which world his uncle has transported plus what difficulties and strange experiences he had there. How he became the hero of a new world will also be answered in the anime series. Another issue regarding Uncle’s post-war trauma will be addressed.
The series is a wholesome combo of action, adventure, fantasy, comedy, and magic. Using the concept of Isekai, which is the transportation of a character from Earth to another world, the series has created a very strong plot.
