Is “Virgin River: Season 4 (2022)” Based On A True Story?

Virgin River on Netflix is like receiving a warm hug: It’s the perfect homey drama to snuggle up with, with small-town trappings reminiscent of Gilmore Girls and Friday Night Lights, and a memorable ensemble of characters.

Fans are in agreement: Despite the fact that Netflix does not divulge viewing data, Virgin River is successful enough that it was discreetly extended for a fourth season even before the release of Virgin River season 3(opens in new tab) on July 9, 2021. The show’s fourth season will premiere one year after the third, on July 20, 2022, and the fifth season will begin filming this summer.

Is “Virgin River: Season 4” based on a true story?

    Virgin River Season 4 (2022)

“Virgin River: Season 4” is not based on a true story. Since the program is based on the Virgin River book series by Robyn Carr(opens in new tab), Netflix has high hopes for the show’s long-term future. Not to mention that season three shot to the top of the Netflix rankings almost immediately, gaining over 1.4 million viewers in its first week, according to Nielson. It was the most-watched content in the country by the end of its first month on Netflix (opens in new tab).

Netflix rapidly approved extra episodes for the fourth season, bringing the total number of episodes to 12 instead of the customary 10. This is likely owing to the high demand.

Thus, as Season 4 approaches, what do we know so far? Will Hope, played by Annette O’Toole, make it? What is the status of Mel’s baby? (a new tab will open) Will Charmaine finally be able to have her twins? (a new tab will open) Isn’t it true that we’ll find out who shot Jack at long last?

In mid-May, Netflix revealed the premiere date for Virgin River season 4: July 20, 2022. By the end of 2021, filming for Season 4 had been completed.

The upcoming season’s summary has also been released by Netflix.

“Despite not knowing whether her baby belongs to her deceased husband, Mark, or Jack, [Mel] has a sense of optimism. For years she yearned to be a mother, and her dream is one step closer to reality. While Jack is supportive and excited, the question of paternity continues to gnaw at him,” it reads. (A love triangle? Hasn’t Jack been through enough?!)

“Complicating matters is the arrival of a handsome new doctor, who’s in the market to start a family of his own,” the description continues. “Hope is still healing from her car accident, and the lingering psychological effects of her brain injury will have profound consequences for both her and Doc. Brie, intent on proving the innocence of the man she loves, unexpectedly finds herself in a closer relationship with Mike and one step closer to Calvin’s violent criminal web. Even as Preacher forges a new romantic connection, he can’t help but hold out hope for being reunited with Christopher and Paige.”
