Wandavision Opens The MCU Doors To Nicholas Cage’s Ghostrider

As Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase IV kicks off, fans are now fully invested in the storyline, what’s to come and what could be possible. Initially, most fans were disappointed in how Phase II ended, but with ‘WandaVision’ it seems like Marvel has not at all lost its plot and has quite a many tricks up their sleeve. Taking a cue from some of the most iconic sitcoms, this show tells the Scarlett Witch a.k.a Wanda Maximoff and Vision story. As we know, the show is set after the events of ‘Avengers: Endgame’ and poses the question as to how Vision is alive.

    An old love greets Wanda

Wanda uses her powers to alter reality, and she has created a town that functions like a sitcom every day. As eerie as that may sound, fans have several theories regarding the show. Since the show has not yet been concluded we cannot know if Wanda is being set up to be the next Marvel villain, if she will eventually come to her senses and fix things or if it is at all Wanda who is doing all the bidding. One of the most popular fan theories is based on  the recent episode five of the series where we see Quicksilver, Wanda’s brother, return. But how this is possible is confusing the hell out of people as Quicksilver died in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ saving Hawkeye a.k.a Clint Barton.

    Did Wanda do that?

As the scene unfolds, something of a double shocker comes to the viewers as it is not Aaron Taylor Johnson’s Quicksilver, but that of Evan Peter’s (yes, from the X-Men franchise) who has returned. This is the first direct crossover between the MCU and the X-Men franchise, and it implies that the multiverse fans have been eager to explore is now open. It is easy to guess that ‘WandaVision’ will tie directly to the next Doctor Strange film titled Multiverse of Madness. If Wanda has, due to some reason, conjured up the wrong Quicksilver in longing for her brother, it means trouble for the other universes.

    A win-win situation for Marvel

Creating this opening for the multiverse allows Marvel to have different characters, no matter which universe, in the MCU. This means that we might be able to get Nicholas Cage’s Ghostrider back. A popular fan theory doing the rounds is that Mephisto, a Marvel comics villain who is the Devil himself, is lurking around Westview. In all probability, Dottie He is posing as, and if this is true, then this clubbed with the multiverse door opening could mean an entry for Ghostrider, the arch-nemesis of Mephisto. Although the rights for Ghostrider are reserved with Sony since a deal was worked out for Spider-Man, perhaps the same could be done for Cage, or a recasting of the character could also be worked out.
