We Might Get A Sequel To 2021’s Wrong Turn Much Before We Expected

While the newest movie of the franchise was a bit of a miss, according to most fans, some things were done correctly in the modern 2021 rendition of Wrong Turn. If you have seen the movie, you’d know that director Mike P Nelson clearifies the path for at least one, if not multiple sequels. In a podcast that Nelson had appeared on recently, he does provide some insight into the next edition of the 2021 remake of the 2003 classic. The Wrong Turn reboot arrived in cinemas on 26th January 2021, albeit only for one day.

Major hints dropped by the director on a recent podcast

Nelson stated that while nothing is absolute, writer Aman McElroy and himself have already started going over potential ideas for the next movies to come for the franchise. He looks forward to the second part which would have a very unexpected storyline, and we will see one of the leads from the first movie called Jen stirring up trouble once again. While the 2021 movie started principal photography in September of 2019, we still do not have any details of the sequel production.

    The story so far

In the 2021 movie, Jen is played by Charlotte Vega. The story is about her going missing while trekking the Appalachian Trail with a group of her friends. Like every Wrong Turn movie, they had come across warnings about not leaving the trail, but they do that exact thing and run into things they never meant to. They come in contact with The Foundation, what you can consider a cult of people who have been cut off from the urban civilization for centuries. The entire movie is about Jen’s father Matthew Modine, trying to rescue her while she consistently makes things worse for herself.
