When Is Wedding Season (2022) Releasing?

Hot weather, beach excursions, and family trips from childhood are all associated with summer. Another enduring association that people of a particular age might have in mind is wedding season. The pressure to get married is palpable for those who are not married at this time of year, regardless of whether they are not interested in marriage, are in casual relationships, or are still sorting things out romantically.

The chore of going to wedding after wedding can be challenging and emotionally taxing. It can also be financially taxing, especially if you’re in the wedding party. According to a Wedding Wire study, being a bridesmaid costs an estimated $1200 on average for each wedding.

Given all of this, it seems sense that many people find wedding season to be uncomfortable and want to stay away from it whenever possible. People can sometimes relax and let their parents arrange their matches for them if their parents are very active in this area. Sometimes it can feel like an unwanted encroachment. This idea is specifically explored in the upcoming romantic comedy movie Wedding Season on Netflix.

The diligent millennial Asha (Pallavi Sharda) is committed to her career and success in the workplace. Boys are one thing she has no time for at the moment. Ravi (Suraj Sharma) recently destroyed his profession to devote himself to self-discovery. They are poles apart in every way. Yet Asha’s mother (Veena Sood) insists that she at least go on a date with Ravi because she thinks the two of them are the ideal match. Asha’s date with Ravi eventually results in an agreement between the two when she gives in to her family’s relentless pressure to date and get married.

Asha and Ravi come up with a plan to fend off the persistent questions as their friends are all getting married and their families are determined to find them a marriage. The Solution? They attend the season’s weddings together while acting like a couple. There are some challenges along the way, as is fitting for a romantic comedy. Their emotions start to shift as the wedding season progresses and they get to know one another better. Do these two opposites fit together as a puzzle piece? There is just one method to learn. Fortunately, there won’t be much more of a wait for viewers.

On July 6, 2022, Netflix released the Wedding Season trailer. The film’s general plot is outlined in the trailer, along with a description of the characters. Independent and focused on her profession, Asha Maurya has no spare time. We discover that her mother has taken it upon herself to have a rather strong influence in Asha’s dating activities. Even more sneakily than Asha knew, she set up a dating profile. Here she meets Ravi, whom she encourages Asha to ask out on a date. Asha first rejects. On the condition that her mother deletes the profile, she finally agrees to a date and to go to the upcoming weddings she is supposed to attend.

Parts of Asha and Ravi’s first date are shown in the trailer; it appears to be a real swing and a miss. Ravi, who has lately taken a break from work, is the exact opposite of Asha in that he believes in working constantly. Their pretended arrangement is initially openly resented, but the teaser gives us a few hints that the two are beginning to feel a connection.

In one moment, Ravi smoulders, “simply let your love be larger than your fear,” while our two love interests are soaking and stranded in the storm. That is the kind of sentence that would make a romance heroine swoon. However, the teaser doesn’t indicate at how far their romance will develop or how the story will end for our couple. It certainly seem as though Asha might be missing Ravi’s easygoing, present-oriented attitude.

What Is the Plot of Wedding Season?

“Pressured by their parents to settle down, Asha and Ravi pretend to date in order to get through a summer of weddings, but they find themselves falling in love as they fight to balance who they are with what their parents want them to be.”

The season that delivers good quantities of romantic hope and dread begins in late May and ends sometime around the hazy days of September. No, the season for weddings is what we’re referring about, not the summer. It’s time to stress about the couple’s blender and their airline tickets, and for the main characters of the upcoming Netflix film Wedding Season, it’s time to shatter their parents’ expectations for marriage. And in order to get us ready for what is likely to be a timeless romance, the streaming juggernaut has unveiled a new image ahead of the movie’s premiere this August.

In the movie Wedding Season, Asha and Ravi, two unmarried people, are forced by their family to choose a spouse. The two decide to pose as a couple in an effort to escape their nosy relatives. But as the wedding season progresses, their made-up emotions quickly become incredibly genuine. Suraj Sharma and Pallavi Sharda play the two sly characters in the movie. Netflix posted the first pictures from the movie in April. They show the couple at what appears to be a barn wedding and they look very friendly.

The newly revealed picture features Asha and Ravi almost face-to-face on a dance floor with mood lighting. For a gathering like a wedding, it is unusual to see just the two people in the picture, but the closeness of the shot suggests that perhaps the couple, who first only dated for practical reasons, is now completely in love.

Suraj Sharma, the movie’s star, had his breakthrough in Ang Lee’s sweeping and moving drama Life of Pi. He also had an appearance in Happy Death Day 2 U, a comedy-horror sequel. In Sharda’s career, she has contributed to a number of Hindi films. She additionally starred in the 2017 live-action Tom and Jerry movie. Tom Dey directed Wedding Season, which was adapted from a script by Shiwani Srivastava. The movie also features Rizwan Manji, Veena Sood, Afsar, Sean Kleier, and Manoj Sood in addition to Sharma and Sharda. The project’s filming took place in Canada.
