Marvel’s Blade is currently working to make the vampire-slayer Blade a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Stacy Osei-Kuffour (Watchmen, 2019) writes the script for the film, while Mahershala Ali (Moonlight, 2016) has been confirmed for the title role. Fans have wondered whether they will ever see Wesley Snipes (Blade trilogy) reprise his role as Blade ever. Snipes has stated that he would be open to appearing in MCU’s reboot under the right circumstances, but it turns out he is developing a similar project by himself. He referred to this project as “Blade on steroids.”
Conversation with the press
In a recent conversation with Uproxx this week, Snipes stated that the film he is developing can smoke and outdo Blade. He revealed that two different projects are currently in the works. One of them happens to be a female action franchise. The world-building is grander in this project with elements such as shapeshifters and a bit of time travel. He spoke about how the action sequence in his film would take things a step further, calling Blade white belt action while his films would have black belt action.
Snipes shared how having more tools and technology at their disposal helped them with innovation and taking the project higher than the Blade trilogy he had starred in. Some of the elements that were considered innovative during Marvel’s Blade franchise are now standard requirements in action movies and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He said how modern-day technology combined with their skill and flavor could make the new project “popping.”

The crew for the film
There is no further report regarding either of the two projects at this moment. However, Snipes is not waiting for Marvel to bring him in their project and instead prefers to take the matter into his own hands to bring his Blade-like hero to the screen.
