The Expendables offered the idea of gathering together the world’s great action heroes in the same film. But the problem is many of the actors in the series are past their time. What will happen if Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallon, and Arnold Schwarzenegger will team up for a movie in the 80s playing their most iconic characters? Kurt Russell wanted it, and he also pitched for it.
Kurt Russel’s pitch
On the promotion of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Kurt Russel said that Snake Plissken’s subject joined with the Guardians came up. He also revealed that he wanted Snake to participate with John Rambo and John McClane for a film. It would be great if Bruce Willis, Stallon, and Schwarzenegger come together for a movie.
The 80s year was a massive golden age of action films. Four names are here to mention to be a great team. Firstly, Sylvester Stallon, in the movie First Blood, would go on to create a long run for the character John Rambo. Secondly, Bruce Wills for the notable film Die Hard that regarded as one of the greatest action movies. Thirdly, Arnold Schwarzenegger for the films Terminator to Commando. There are different characters that he could play in this action-hero-shared movie. Kurt Russell said that he wants this to be a realistic version.
There are logistical issues to put the action heroes all together
There will be some logistical problems that would come with putting all the characters on screen. There is no reason for these characters that couldn’t exist in the same universe. Escape from L.A. and The Escape from New York, character Snake Plissken, might make things complicated as the movies and characters live in a dystopian authenticity. But the guys like John Rambo seem more real to people. It doesn’t matter as this Expendables style won’t team up, and it also didn’t go any further than the pitch.
