Ada Twist, Scientist which is an animated preschool series based on the book series by author Andrea Beaty and illustrator David Roberts, is coming to Netflix. The series is produced by Chris Nee and Higher Ground, the production firm of President of the united States, Barack Obama and Michelle Obama.
For the 40 12-minute episodes, Kerri Grant will serve as showrunner, co-executive producer, and story editor. The series has Wonder Worldwide as a co-producer.
The first project to be announced under Netflix’s overall arrangement with Chris Nee, the Emmy, Peabody, and Humanitas Prize-winning children’s television writer and producer, and her production firm Laughing Wild, is “Ada Twist, Scientist.”
What is Ada Twist, Scientist: Season 1 about?
Ada, an 8-year-old Black girl and scientist, will be followed on her quests to learn and explore all that she can about the world she lives in and also solve mysteries along the way with the help of her best friends, Rosie Revere and Iggy Peck.
Solving the riddle is simply the beginning, because science isn’t only about discovering how, why, and what, it’s about putting that knowledge into action to make the world a better place, according to the series press release.
The show also highlights essential topics such as STEM education, scientific discoveries, teamwork, and the importance of friendship. Each 26-minute programme will conclude with a live-action segment featuring a real scientist to further inspire children.
They’ll discuss the ideas discussed in the episodes as well as how their work relates to them. Ada Twist, Scientist aims to transform people’s perceptions of scientists and what they identify with them by having an intelligent female black child lead these stories and showing different real-life experts.
