Code 404 is a British police procedural comedy-drama television series produced by Kudos and developed by Tom Miller, Sam Myer, and Daniel Peak. The first season premiered on Sky One on April 29, 2020, before transferring to Sky Comedy later that year. Anna Maxwell Martin, Rosie Cavaliero, and Tracy Ann Oberman co-star alongside Stephen Graham and Daniel Mays.
Along with the great returning cast, Season 2 of Code 404 will introduce two new characters. Elizabeth Churchland will be played by British comedian and actress Meera Syal, and Clifford Major will be played by Scottish actor Clive Russell.
When the show returns later this year, DI Major and DI Carver will be in considerably greater difficulty.
What is Code 404 Season 2 about?
Both Daniel Mays and Stephen Graham are known for playing dark, grim characters, but the first season of police comedy Code 404 proved that they can also play lighthearted roles, with the programme becoming Sky’s most-watched comedy in eight years.
Now they’re back as Roy Carver and the artificially enhanced John Major, respectively, with a new case to solve – as well as some personal issues to go through following certain discoveries at the end of the previous season.
The tale picks up a month after the events of the first season finale, and John and Roy are no longer on speaking terms as a result of the discoveries that occurred the last time they spoke. But they’ll have to work out their disagreements quickly, because they’ve been assigned a brand-new case.
