A New experimental Mexican action film “A Cop”, directed by Alonso Ruizpalacios is for everyone. It’s a hybrid of documentary and dramatic modernization. It’s beautifully narrated how difficult it is to do a job for cops as public neither trust nor appreciate even don’t get any proper support from the institution they represent.
The whole movie picturizes on a couple Teresa (a 34-year-old woman) and Montoya who join the police force as part of their family tradition to find their convictions and hopes crushed by the dysfunctional system. Teresa lonely keeps watching over the streets of Mexico City during night.
Once, On her patrolling duty, she was compelled to assist a woman in giving childbirth as there was no ambulance at the sight. Ruizpalacios shows how an unexperienced Teresa perfectly handled this situation and proved that she neither a pig nor a bastard like many others.
Then the movie turns towards another cop i.e. “Montoya” experiences watching over a gay pride parade. An hour movie both cops are grapple with on and off the job, from delivering a baby to chasing criminals. In the finale, we see the actors’ efforts to give authentic performances while introducing the real people behind the characters. It truthfully sheds light on one of Mexico and the world’s most controversial institutions.
