Apex is an American science fiction action thriller that will put six elite hunters against human prey just for a pleasure on a remote island… until they find themselves becoming the prey. The Edward Drake directed film moves around an ex-cop James Malone (Willis), who is serving a life sentence for a crime he didn’t commit. He is offered to play a deadly survive game of Apex to get freedom. He accepts, and once he arrives all hell breaks loose. Laying traps and playing mind games, Malone tries to turn the tables and fight for his life and his future.
Malone is a master of hiding himself nearby and this would made a plus point later in his game. In fact, for skilled hunters it’s amazing how often they can be mere feet away from their prey and not notice him. And that is all we see Willis do for most of Apex’s first hour. Though the Wills is a main character but he barely in the film, let alone playing an action hero type role and has some impact on its events at the very end. Unfortunately, the main plot of Apex isn’t much more interesting and finally is basically one big rip off.
