Back to the Outback is an upcoming Australian computer-animated adventure comedy film directed by Clare Knight that follows the journey of the unwanted animals as they escape from their wildlife park.
Dangerously cute and on the loose, “Back to the Outback” is about a group of Australia’s deadliest animals feeling sick and tired of being locked up in a reptile house for humans to stare at them like they’re monsters. A ragtag group of Australia’s deadliest creatures plot a daring escape from their zoo to the Outback, a place where they’ll fit in without being judged for their scales and fangs.
The leader of the group is a poisonous snake with a heart of gold named Maddie, who joins forces with a Thorny Devil lizard named Zoe, a hairy spider named Frank, and a sensitive scorpion named Nigel.
All seem to go according to plan, until an adorable yet annoying Koala named Pretty Boy insists on tagging along. So begins a hair-raising and hilarious road trip across Australia, as they are pursued by a zookeeper Chaz and his adventure-seeking mini-me. So, will they end up finding a new home in the wild?
