Netflix’s upcoming sci-fi Scandinavian action thriller “Black Crab,” is set in a post-apocalyptic world torn apart by war and climate change. The film draws its story from the novel of the same name by author Jerker Virdborg who also worked as a co-writer along with Adam Berg and Pelle Rådström in Black Crab.
This adventurous movie comes under the direction of Adam Berg, best known for his work in Tales from the Loop, and started his debut after making a career in music videos and commercials. So, Adam Berg is playing a triple role in this movie as a director, co-writer, and one of the executive producers. This 110-minute-short movie is produced by MalinIdevall and Mattias Montero at INDIO and distributed by Netflix globally.
BAFTA Film Awards nominee and multiple awards winner NoomiRapace acclaimed for her work in Lamb, Prometheus, What Happened to Monday, Sherlock Holmes, and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, starring as Caroline Edh in a lead role in the film. Black Crab centers on six soldiers on a secret and dangerous mission in a never-ending, harsh winter to end the war that has ruined their lives. They are assigned to deliver a mysterious package across the archipelago without having any idea how it is risky. A trailer reveals how a speed skater soldier Caroline Edh (Rapace), and her team fight for survival in a frozen sea.
Equipped with weapons and ice skates, they enter an enemy territory unaware of what challenges they will face, what danger lies ahead, or who they can trust as they have very few details of their mission. As the threat grows, they face a central question what are they willing to sacrifice for their survival. But the mission is entirely different for a Caroline Edh.
