    “Christmas at Belmont” will be taped live for the first time in the newly opened Fisher Center for the Performing Arts on the University’s campus. The invitation-only concert performance features nearly 650 student musicians and School of Music faculty and will be broadcast nationally for the 19th consecutive year on PBS.

    “Christmas at Belmont” is an annual Belmont University tradition celebrating the holiday season and the musical diversity and rich talent of the university’s School of Music. The concert features a collage of familiar carols, classical masterworks, world music and light-hearted seasonal favorites.

    “Christmas at Belmont 2021” features nearly 650 Belmont University students performing holiday favorites, traditional carols and festive tunes. The show includes 15 student musical groups, among them the Belmont Symphony Orchestra, Belmont Chorale (traditional choir), Bluegrass Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble and Jazzmin (vocal jazz ensemble) performing a variety of genres.

    The students will be joined by faculty members from Belmont’s School of Music. This year’s performance will include an array of traditional carols, classical masterworks, and seasonal favorites in addition to selections from Turner’s new Christmas album, King Size Manger. The record, produced by Kenny Greenberg, includes Christmas classics as well as four originals, three of which were written by Turner.

    Multi-Platinum recording artist Josh Turner will host and be the featured guest artist for the 2021 Christmas at Belmont performance at Belmont University, his alma mater, which will be filmed for national broadcast.

    This year’s concert will be recorded in Belmont’s new Fisher Center for the Performing Arts, a 1,700-seat hall on the university’s campus in Nashville, Tenn. Belmont’s new venue boasts advanced technology, production, and acoustic capabilities for mounting major concerts, plays, operas, dance, musical theater and other performances.
