Rumble, an American animated sports comedy film, is an adaptation of the 2013 graphic novel Monster on the Hill by Rob Harrell. Directed by Hamish Grieve from a screenplay co-written by Matt Lieberman and Alexandra Bracken. The film is a co-production between Paramount Animation and WWE Studios and will be produced by Reel FX, Walden Media, Mark Bakshi, and Brad Booker.
In a world where giant monsters and humans collide, the monsters are superstar athletes and compete in a popular professional wrestling global sport called Monster Wrestling. A young girl named Winnie (Geraldine Viswanathan) seeks to follow in her father, Tummy (Ben Schwartz)’s footsteps as a manager by training a lovable underdog yet-inexperienced monster named Steve (Will Arnett). Winnie plans to turn Steve into a wrestling champion so that he can go up against the reigning champion Tentacular (Terry Crews). Fans of Monsters Inc. will surely enjoy this new animated hit.
Along with Arnett, Viswanathan, and Crews, Stephen A. Smith, Jimmy Tatro, Tony Danza, Ben Schwartz, Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i, and more stars are set to lend their voices to the animated film.
