Copshop is a film directed by Joe Carnahan and written by Kurt McLeod and Carnahan, based on a storey by McLeod and Mark Williams. The film stars Gerard Butler, Frank Grillo, and Alexis Louder and is set in a small-town police station where a hitman, a rookie cop, and a con artist battle it out.
Copshop is a film about a cunning con artist on the run from a murderous assassin. He devises a plan to hide out inside a small-town police station, but when the hitman arrives, an unknowing rookie cop finds herself in the crosshairs.
What is Copshop about?
Wily con artist Teddy Murretto devises a desperate strategy to elude fatal hitman Bob Viddick as he screams through the Nevada desert in a bullet-riddled Crown Vic: He sucker-punches rookie officer Valerie Young, resulting in his arrest and imprisonment in a small-town police station. But Murretto won’t be safe in jail for long.
Viddick concocts his own way into detention, stalling in a nearby cell until his goal is completed. When a rival assassin arrives, all-out mayhem ensues, forcing Viddick to think outside the box if he wants to finish the job and get out of the dangerous situation.
In the first trailer for Copshop, Hollywood hard men Gerard Butler and Frank Grillo go toe-to-toe in a high-octane action spectacle. Where to watch Copshop?
From October to November 2020, filming took conducted in Georgia and New Mexico. Open Road Films will distribute Copshop in the United States on September 17, 2021. STX Foreign is in charge of the film’s international distribution, as well as its release in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
There is no word on when it will be available for viewing on mainstream streaming platforms as of yet.
