Judge Steve Harvey is a planned American arbitration-based reality comedy court show hosted by Steve Harvey, a well-known stand-up comedian and TV show host. The unscripted courtroom comedy has been greenlit as a limited-run series by ABC, which has ordered 10 episodes so far.
Plot- Harvey, unlike most other television court show arbitrators, such as Judge Judy, Judge Mathis, Judge Marilyn Milian (The People’s Court), and others, has never held any judgeships or legal licences, and has no jurisprudence background, which is usually required by television court show programming.
To make up for that, the miniseries is marketed as “Harvey playing by his own rules, based his courts on his own life experiences and some plain old common sense.” “Harvey taking on a variety of problems and people in his courtroom, from little claims to major disagreements and everything in between,” according to the advertisement for Judge Steve Harvey. Harvey wears a black dress shirt, suit jacket, tie, and dress pants in the show’s trailer, deviating from the usual in terms of judicial attire as well.
Unlike most other programming in the arbitration-based reality show genre, which follows a more serious, businesslike approach, Harvey’s Judge Steve Harvey series aims to radiate humour. This is similar to Harvey’s strategy for launching the game programme Family Feud to top-rated daytime ratings success.
The game show began fighting in Nielsen ratings for top spot against Judge Judy (a usual daytime ratings leader for many years of its original run) over the 2020–21 television year, thanks to Harvey’s unrelenting disdain and scoffing humour, double takes, and slow-burn reactions. Harvey’s arbitration dealing technique was compared to his game show presenting manner in media publications following the release of a trailer for the series on December 1.
Will the series be available on Hulu?
Hulu doesn’t have this series in its recent release list. Though Hulu’s dystopian drama The Handmaid’s Tale has generated the most noise, don’t overlook the streaming service’s terrific comedy series. Or the documentaries they’ve produced. Alternatively, their co-productions with the United Kingdom. Hulu, in general, has a large selection of excellent television. It’s an even better deal when you combine it with their Live TV subscription.
We’re also including continuations (like The Mindy Project) and international co-productions (Harlots) because Hulu’s originals catalogue isn’t nearly as extensive as other streaming platforms (and includes more than a few forgettable flops). Mrs. America, despite being produced by FX, was created just for Hulu as part of their new agreement, therefore it makes the list as well. We did, however, put a limit on “exclusive international streaming rights.”
Where to watch this series?
The series is set to launch on ABC on January 4, 2022, and will consist of hour-long episode blocks. Judge Steve Harvey will air in prime time, unlike most courtroom programming, which airs throughout the day. Judge Steve Harvey’s casting has been finished, and filming for the courtroom series began in October 2021 and ended in November 2021. Den of Thieves is collaborating with Walt Disney Television’s newly formed alternative branch to produce the show.
Many people want to know how to watch ABC without cable this fall season because the lineup is so strong. The good thing is that there are plenty of choices available. You can view your local ABC channel for free with a TV antenna depending on where you reside. Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, FuboTV, and DIRECTV STREAM are all good options for watching ABC live. If you reside in a city or the suburbs, you can usually watch ABC over the air with a $25 Flat TV antenna. It’s completely risk-free thanks to the return policy. You can return it with a refund if it does not receive the channels you desire.
