Tim Fehlbaum directed and wrote Tides, also known as The Colony, a 2021 German-Swiss science fiction thriller film. Nora Arnezeder, Iain Glen, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, and Joel Basman feature in the film.
At the 71st Berlin International Picture Festival, the film made its global debut. In 2021, it earned Best Direction and Best Cinematography at the Bavarian Film Awards, as well as the RTS Audience Award and Best Production Design Award at the NIFFF’s 20th edition.
What is The Colony about?
When the earth became inhospitable for humans, the ruling class relocated to Kepler 209, but the planet’s atmosphere renders the new residents sterile. Two generations later, a mission called Mission Ulysses II is expected to assess whether life on Earth is conceivable once more. When the spaceship enters the earth’s atmosphere, it loses control, and astronaut Blake played by Nora Arnezeder is the only one who survives the landing. She does, however, comprehend that she is not alone on this planet. A fight for survival begins, and Blake must make decisions that will determine humanity’s fate.
It is a stellar addition to the post-apocalyptic genre. She has six hours until the tides return and four hours till they’re supposed to send message back to Kepler-209, but she’s only been gone for a few minutes when a strange weather front rolls in and a roving band of scavengers kidnaps both her and Tucker. They arrive in a dungeon that fills up swiftly during high tide, with Tucker in desperate need of medical help. There are probably too many deadlines, but you can never have too many loudly ticking clocks, right? Tide tables, bad weather, weeping wounds, communication windows: this is possibly an overabundance of deadlines.
Where to watch The Colony?
Saban Films will release The Colony on August 27, 2021. However, there is no word on when this movie will be out on the VOD platforms that we know and use regularly.
Is The Colony on Amazon prime?
Unfortunately, with no streaming service release being fixed yet, this one is not included in Amazon Prime’s vast library of shows and movies. We do recommend “All Is Lost” or “127 hours” if you are a fan of the survival genre.
Is The Colony on Hulu?
The Colony is not available on Hulu’s large library of movies and streaming shows. Subscribers to the streaming service can consequently explore other platforms or watch other horror movies such as “The Mountain Between Us,” or “I Am Legend.”
Can The Colony be streamed online?
