Charlie’s Colorforms City is a preschool series that encourages ingenuity and creative problem-solving while also reinforcing viewers’ grasp of shapes, colors, and relative size. The cartoon follows main character Charlie (voiced by Jacob Soley) as he imagines new places and events for himself and his companions, inspired by the logo of the original Colorforms toys.
They develop objects that assist them solve problems as the tale proceeds. At times, Charlie addresses the audience directly, urging children to consider their own solutions and replies. Resilience, curiosity, and self-confidence are less overt themes than the prereading ideas, but they help fill out the learning possibilities in this vibrant, fascinating series.
Charlie (voiced by Jacob Soley) goes on shape-filled adventures that he makes with his great imagination in CHARLIE’S COLORFORMS CITY. Charlie gets inspiration in what he sees around him with his best friends Red (Tyler Barish) and Violet (Saara Chaudry), and soon a great novel is formed! As the story unfolds, he and his pals face problems that they overcome via resourcefulness, imagination, and the shapes he notices all around him.
In Colorforms by Charlie, the emphasis is put on imagination and problem-solving in City is less obvious, but no less useful to its young audience. Charlie adapts as his stories progress and new predicaments and opportunities for fun and adventure arise, by weighing his alternatives and strategizing his next moves. It’s a deliberate and thoughtful process that teaches youngsters that when faced with a dilemma, they must think critically as well as creatively.
