How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM) on CBS ended more than seven years ago, but fans who miss Robin, Barney, Ted, Lily, and Ted—as well as those who are disappointed that the Lizzie McGuire Disney+ revival did not happen—are in luck. Hilary Duff is starring in a 10-episode comedy series called How I Met Your Father (HIMYF), a follow-up sequel to How I Met Your Mother. This is Duff’s first show since the series finale of Younger, which lasted seven seasons.
HIMYM director Pam Fryman, who directed 196 of the original series 208 episodes, will direct the pilot episode. Although many fans were disappointed with the show’s conclusion, they will be pleased to find that much of the same creative talent is behind this new endeavor. Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, who created the original series, will return as showrunners alongside Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger.
In the same way as the original, HIMYF will use both multi-camera and single-camera technologies. Sophie will tell her son how she navigated the ups and downs of dating, working, and developing enduring friendships in Manhattan, much like Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor) did.
